There is a widespread IRS (or CRA) or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both USA and Canadian residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

The IRS has been trying to get a hold of me.  This is my final notice.  They are going to file a lawsuit against me.  Curious, the IRS doesn't call unless they are responding to a call initiated by the tax payer.  And if the IRS was really calling, I bet they wouldn't have UNKNOWN NAME.

Same message... Computer bot voice saying IRS was filing a lawsuit against Us and to call back.  Crazy!

Don't worry. Their suit doesn't even have 2 pair of pants. That's the problem with that crummy haberdashery from Asia. Sam! You made the pants too long! (It's a well known 'IRS' telephone scam, been on all the Evening network news)

Message said the IRS is suing me an left a phone number to call. I called it back several times and it was either busy or no answer.

I got the same call: "Hello.  We are trying to reach you.  This is a final notice from the IRS (Internal Revenue Service).  We are filing a lawsuit against you.  Call 509-643-4315" and repeated the number.  I know the IRS only corresponds US Mail.  I looked up the number and it is a land line in the state of Washington.  I filed a scam notice with the Ohio Attorney General's office.  The message does not ask for a person by name.  I do not know who the caller is because it says "Unknown Name 1" on my caller id.  I don't know how they are trying to scam.

Same ol same ol. Gonna sue gonna throw me in jail, oh well.

Do not fall for it. These scams are a penny a dozen. Do not call them back. Don't even try as it might flag your phone as active and they will call even more.

just gut the same message stating there's a law suit being filed under my name, but they did not say who the call was for. Tried calling the number back several times and got the message that the phone number is disconnected.
