The DNC only apply's to telemarketers that are trying to sell goods or services. It does not apply to debt collectors, which fall under the FDCPA laws, or to Charity's, Political Calls or some survey's, though they can still get into trouble if they do not place you on their internal DNC.

The DNC will not stop extortion scammers, frauds, thieves from calling with spoofed numbers from foreign country's. Most of these calls are coming from India and Pakistan, IRS Scam, Federal Grant scam, some Loans or phoney DC loan scam, and the infamous microsoft scam.The DNC cannot protect you from criminal callers. Only legitimate business's are going to obey the law.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Called. Identified himself as Harry Jackson IRM-1209
Threatened me with "Section 101" with fines, losing property and bank account, and jailtime. Was unable to give me so-called case file #. Stated somebody had come to my house (April 14th of this year).
After asking him why he is calling on a Saturday, he stated that "This is a serious matter." Upon further questioning, he hung up.

Left a computer recorded message that they were the IRS and were going to file suit against me.  I didn't call them back.  I pay my taxes!

Go this number called and left a computer message the same as the others...IRS and filling charges on me.

I got the same recorded call--said I was the object of a lawsuit.  They gave me a number to call;--I immediately phoned the FBI and gave them the number.  The scary thing is the number of naïve people who might believe this garbage.
