Claimed to be the IRS and was filing a law suit against me

Called me two days in a row so I looked up the number knowing the IRS does not do business this way. Glad this site has a comment that this is a scam.

I also received three calls from this number in one day, knowing it to be a scam, I didn't pick up nor call the number back.  The next day, I received two more calls about five minutes apart, from 201-621-0116 claiming the same company and leaving similar messages that a lawsuit is pending.   I actually answered the second call on the second day just hoping to tell these people to remove our number from whatever list they have.  Only to hear that it was a final notice from the IRS, as they had been trying to reach us.   I then called the 201 number back, but discovered it to be not in service.  To make sure that it really was a bogus call, I proceeded to call the 509 number and, needless to say, the same held true for this number.  I am truly frustrated and annoyed by this!  What do these people want or hope to accomplish from this?

These people claiming to be the IRS are trying to scam money out of you by threatening to sue you if you don't pay. They target especially the elder which they consider to be easier targets. I answered to one of the calls (After receiving about 10 of them) and I spoke to a woman with a very heavy Asian accent, who proceeded to threaten me if I did not pay supposed money that she said I owed. I told them that the IRS do not work that way and she felt offended and after saying that they were sending agents to arrest me, I started laughing and she got madder, then she cursed at me and hung up. Also a few days later I got another call from the same number from a guy with an Indian accent who proceeded to tell me the same crap as the previous woman. After a few minutes from hearing this, I asked him why was he trying to scam people and how would he feel if they did this to his family. He went quiet and I asked him again why he does this and his answer was: "To have fun" I told him that it's not fun for the people that believed his crap and he said "goodbye" and hung up. I called the IRS prior to these two calls and they confirmed to me that the IRS never calls anybody over the phone and only through the regular mail. I also called the FBI to report these numbers. Don't fall for these jerks!
