This person, Roy King, with IRS ID # (probably fake ID #) and Indian accent called me that IRS filed a law suit against me due to money I owe to IRS due to miscalculation in my tax return during 2008-2013.  He asked me if I want to settle outside court and threatened me to put me in jail.  When I raised questions about his identity, he threw an insult at me.   Please be aware!

These are criminal extortionists operating in overseas boiler rooms using VOIP to alter their identities and locations and out of the reach of US law enforcement.

If someone calls saying he's an IRS agent and demands that you send money immediately, hang up.
It's a phone scam.In fact, it tops the IRS "Dirty Dozen" list of tax scams this year, and it's been surging in recent months, the agency said Thursday.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), which oversees the IRS, has received reports of 290,000 scam calls since October 2013 and said nearly 3,000 victims have been swindled out of $14 million so far.

By altering their caller ID number to make it look like they're calling from an IRS office, these scammers often threaten vulnerable people like the elderly and new immigrants with things like arrest, deportation or the loss of their driver's license if they don't pay immediately for money purportedly owed.

Often leaving messages that say it's "urgent" you call them back, the scammers use common names and sometimes say they are from the IRS Criminal Division. They may even claim to know the last four digits of your Social Security number and send follow-up emails that appear to be from the IRS, TIGTA said.

They often demand that payments be made by prepaid debit card.

Once they make their threats, the scammers have been known to call back and again disguise their caller ID so it appears they are calling from the police department or the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Or sometimes when they call, they may say you have a refund due and ask you to provide personal information so you can claim it.

The real IRS will usually contact you by regular mail first, if it needs to contact you at all. And the agency never demands immediate payment by phone or asks for credit card or debit numbers if they do call. It also never asks for personal or financial information by email, text or social media.

If you get what you suspect is a scam call, report it to TIGTA through its Web site or call 800-366-4484.

I received a call today from this number from a Indian guy, stating a lawsuit has been filed against me and a warrant for my arrest. He asked me to answer his question of: Did I intentionally do Fraud against the goverment, yer or no. When asked questions of why I did not receive anything in the mail he got upset and said that I would be arrested soon and that I am being audited from 2008-20012 taxes. I kept telling him I wanted documentation he hung up one me.

Received a call from a "Frank Martin" with a very strong east Indian accent telling me the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me for back taxes in the amount of $1798.00.  When I told him I didn't owe any back taxes he got angry.  I got angry too and told him to go **** himself before hanging up.  Googled the phone number only to find out it is a scam.  I don't think "Frank Martin" will be calling back.

I got the same call today saying they were the IRS and this was the last attempt to reach me about back taxes I owed.  I have been trying to reach this # 1-509-878-3033 for the last 2 hours and it has been busy.  When if I reach them I am going to tell them to meet me somewhere and they can have their money.  I don't think they will meet me but I am ready for their threats.  Just have the need to tell them to F$$$-off.  Thanks for letting me vent.  Good Luck,  Stay Smart....

If any of you should receive a phone call from this number, it is not the irs calling you.  It is someone posing as the irs.  The irs does not call people saying that you have a law suit against you.  These people are trying to get your identification number, do not answer phone if possible.  Do not give them any information about who you are etc.  Call your telephone service provider to block this phone number if possible.

    Beware of IRS Scam
    February 6, 2015

Jackson County Sheriff Duane Waldera warns the public to be aware of a scam going around the country.

People posing as IRS Agents or Representatives are contacting people and telling them that they have a judgment or law suit pending against them. They are then instructed to pay a sum of money to take care of the problems or they will be subject to further actions including imprisonment. Sheriff Waldera says the IRS does not operate like this and these efforts to extort money should be ignored. Law enforcement is aware of these attempts and it is not necessary to report these incidents.
