i found this message of yours because an unnamed business posted job positions on craigslist and gave that number. i wanted to find out if it is just some bs ripoff or a real job offer. so i think its just telemarketing if theyre calling you at random

it's the Kirby business again! Check the number, it's the same. They are in Fremont and they are a bunch of liars. They always advertise for positions as sales rep or customer rep, but it's a scam. They will try and get you to sell 4000 dollars vacuum cleaners to old ladies, and attend stupid presentations and morning meetings to indoctrinate you.

DON'T FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!

Thank you so very much from saving me a trip to Fremont. Something did not "sound right", but I was desperate enough to try anyhow. But I am not so desperate as to walk the Kirby path...

posts re: ALL STAR MARKETING, INC. alleged Lic. #67907 are spot-on.  Two pushy, door-to-door salesmen showed up yesterday, and demo'd a Kirby Sentrina.  Nice vacuum, but VERY stupidly marked up to $2,500.

There wasn't a phone call but a pushy door to door salesperson came to my door and said I can get a free carpet cleaning.  It sounded like a scam to me and there is no way I would let this person inside.

The phone number is listed on their flyer.

There is some interesting reading about Kirby and their sales practices on Wikipedia. I don't buy anything from door to door salespeople and would never let them into my home.

DO NOT LET THEM IN. They're crooks and really scary. They looked around my house, after they pushed themselves into it without my permission. It was really freaky. One guy got pissed at me when I said that I couldnt' afford the machine, he said, "Come on! Look at your house, don't tell me you can
t afford it." He was so aggressive and rude that I started to shake. I was by myself at home with my 5 month old baby. I couldn't believe my eyes. I have just contracted an alarm system, I think these guys were up to no good inspecting my property to rob it. PLEASE DONT LET THESE PEOPLE INTO YOUR HOME.

I went to a interview today at Allstar... the boss looked like a kid trying to be a manager.
The place looked so ghetto and so did the employees.  

While I was in the interview with Jimmy.. the kid.
I heard music banging, and sounded like a stripper was in the other room. Sounded crazy!!

They said that is was 2,000 a month.... and when I asked Jimmy... it changed to 1800 a month.
That's [***]!! Then he wanted to offer me a manager position to make more money.
But once he said... the word "KIRBY" I completely felt like I just wasted my time.
He might as well sold me on "AVON" cause that is as [***] and this company is...
Allstar is not a star in my book... more like low life job and company with kids running it.

Those Kirby door to door salespeople are very pushy.  They come by about once a month and they won't go away if I politely say not thanks.  I usually have to slam the door on them.

They are from All Star Marketing and some other companies.

I admit I was the stupid one and got a kirby. Just today actually. I hope i can rescind. Sending form in tommorrow. The guy called this number from my phone. I just tried calling back, granted its 11:00 at night, but it went to a voice mail, answering All Star Marketing. As some companies do use mulitple names, I assume it is Kirby. I regret letting them in. :(

I went to interview for this company after finding an extraordinarily vague Craig'slist ad. I called and tried to get more info out of the secretary but to no avail. The interview was professional. Jimmy is a pretty cool guy. This interview is not about him. He's probably the realest dude here... I think. He seems honest but certain aspects of the job which would make anyone think twice about working here were purposely left out. Things such as, your "2,000$" monthly guarantee....IS NOT A GUARANTEE! You have to do a minimum of 60 in-home presentations at no less than 1.5 hours each (of course you find this out on the 3rd and last day of training. niiiiiiiiice.) Nobody in their right mind wants some random salesperson in their home that long. Hence why they frame it this way. I'm sure some people do indeed make this monthly minimum but at the cost of transforming yourself into a total and complete ass-hole salesman. Not to mention attaining this goal requires working roughly 6-7 days a week with hours ranging from about 10-12 daily. I'm just one of those "lazy people" though. Right.

Here's a question; if you claim to have so much pride in your super-successful business, why must you resort to shady and completely deceitful recruitment tactics? Maybe just say in your listing "KIRBY VACUUM SALESMAN NEEDED!" The end. The fact that they don't do this makes it painfully obvious that they prefer to get you in, and sell YOU on working there. Do they say its a sales job? not really. Its a "customer service job." Come on guys, this is intellectually insulting. I'm guessing the majority of people if they saw a "Kirby Salesman" job listing would have no problems never giving it a call. Yea, that's why their ads look the way they do.

From the looks of it, this job preys on the minds of the financially cripple, downtrodden persons simply looking for work. Ali's "success story" is almost offensive in the way he presents it. Touting everyone in the room as people who "screwed up." Guess what bro, some of those poor kids were straight out of high-school. You're right, they did screw up; they walked into your establishment that day.

The morning meetings are a complete joke and absolutely embarrassing for any self-respecting human. I felt like I was thrown into a creepy mixture of Vacation Bible School and an AA meeting. Being forced to chant things like, "I am a force for GOOD! I am a force for GOD!" was absurd and borderline cult-ish. No, I am not a force for God, and if I was, it wouldn't be accomplished selling 3-thousand dollar vacuum cleaners to people who probably don't really want them. Get real. This is brainwashy and just weird.

What absolutely bothered me most about this job is the way in which this company, and from the looks of it, every other Kirby distributor in ever, goes about selling their product. Do they encourage lying? Not in the technical sense of the word, but the entire process from A-Z is deceitful. The main owner, Ali, in one of his many exuberant speeches told people to literally use emotions to convince the customer to buy. What does this mean in real terms? Make the customer feel like total crap for not purchasing. Find any sort of way to make decent human beings, good people, feel like they are somehow doing you wrong for not purchasing a $2600 vacuum cleaner during a recession. Things like "whatever you do, NEVER start packing up. Just move onto the next demonstration."- after the customer suggests you wrap up and leave is not only one of the rudest things I've ever heard, but its also... whats the word... Illegal.  This is downright shameful and they make only the slightest effort to mask the sales process as anything but. Thanks but no thanks. No amount of Monopoly money is worth my dignity and respect for fellow humans. I'd literally rather work at McDonald's flipping burgers than this place, with glee.

I could go on for days about the endless red-flags that went up at this place.

Ali- "LOSERS PARTY ON FRIDAY NIGHTS!", No dude! Normal people party on Friday nights. Just not people who work for you, because their busy slaving every second of their fleeting lives harassing homeowners.

This place is a scam, they will hire anyone who they interview. They always bring up things like $2000 a month and getting paid every week on Wednesday, then how come you don't get paid on the first Wednesday. When you ask if it's a sales job, they tell you its a customer service job and try to dance around any question you ask. They act like they are much smarter than anyone they interview and think they can trick you with their little bag of lies. When you ask the hiring managers questions they will not answer it and they are trained to do this because they know it's all  a scam. I wish he would have just came out and told me the truth because he should have known by the way I spoke to him that I didn't believe a word he said. All he does it talk about how their company does this and that, but they really don't. He also tries to say they don't sell just Kirby products and that's all they sell. The girl that works at the front looks so sad to work there, she absolutely hates the entire company. That place could NOT be more of a joke. People like this need to go to jail for pulling this [***]. You can't tell people one thing and then pay them something different. He said there are bonuses but that would take too long to explain right now and we wouldn't want that. I can get into that later. Im upset that I waisted my gas to go to Fremont. I was going to call them and expose this scam and see what they said, but instead I just didn't go to the training. The comment above me basically explains everything exactly the way it goes.

These door to door people showed up as I left and tryied forcing a demo on my wife boy did they screw up. Not only am I a carpet cleaner "truck mount only" but my wife and kids all know what is IICRC certified and what is now and the people at all star marketing inc tried blowing smoke up our buts when my wife called to let them know its not professional to go to a carpet cleaners home and after being told leave they dont. any way stay away from this company.

This All Star Marketing Company is a bunch of B.S. I worked here for 3 days and you shift is about 12 hours and the bosses tell you to try and force your way in. Also, I don't reccomend anyone going to an interview there or working, You will regret it like I did. Before I went to work I read all these ads, but decided to still give it a shot and see what happend, but I regret it. Scam scam scam... I went to an interview today.. Of course I got the job.. Seemed too easy.. To be honest with a criminal record it really isn't... When I got home I wanted to know more.. I couldn't even find a website... All I found was nothing but bad things... I asked if it was a sales job once I heard Kirby.... Of course they said not at all... I want to burn this place down to be honest but I'll lose my freedom.. So instead I'm posting this here.. They target honest people trying to make a living and it makes my blood boil... Please people don't fall for it... James Geiger was the employer...

I wasted my time going to fremont 3x to finish the orientation. I should have walked out the very first day. James aka Jimmy is a [***]. I hate when i would ask him a question and he wouldnt give me a straight answe, but i saw through his lies. I wish have looked up allstar marketing the very first day of the interview. I remeber asking Jimmy are we going to be doing door to door and he said NO. I am very upset i fell for this crap.
