I called this number back and got an answering message from the phone company that this number has been disconnected.  I doubt that this is from Kaiser, unless someone else here knows otherwise and care to share ?

P/S  I did a reverse phone checkup.  The location on the map does appear to be in the Kaiser Children's PD area.  So, it MAYBE YES or MAYBE NOT Kaiser ?

My wife, who works at Kaiser Oakland, called me from her desk phone today, which is NOT this number. However, this is the number that showed up on my cell phone. I called this number back and got a message saying that the number was disconnected. Curiouser and curiouser.

I am a Kaiser member and used to work for them too. Sometimes when I would call out on one of our phones, it would show a different number to the person I was calling. This is for security and confidentiality purposes. When they call regarding health issues, they don't want someone else picking up and getting private info. Often when they call from lines like this, they do not leave messages. Sometimes I would call family or friends from one of these phones, not even caring if they see the number or not. The phone dials into a "phone bank" which has hundreds of different phone numbers used to conceal the caller's info. I think it's also a way for the company to keep their incoming lines free for patients and members to call in, that way they don't get busy signals from employees dialing out.

This is Kaiser. They use VoIP and this is a call center they have in Walnut Creek or somewhere in the Eastbay. It can come from anywhere that Kaiser represents. Usually when they call you it comes through the closest call center. Each site has one. Then the call is sent over the internet (or in this case the WAN) and dials out on the old copper lines from the closest site to you. This is how they save on long distance calls. VoIP 101

This is Kaiser...the San Rafael office called me and this number showed up.  They left me a real number to call back to....
This is, as someone else stated, a floating number for outgoing calls to maintain anonymous medical calls.

Yup, Kaiser. Can't even call this on a internal Kaiser line, believe me I just tried. But it is someone using a Kaiser land based line out of the Oakland area, phone system just uses this number as a generic caller ID.

I work for Kaiser, and when we call from a Kaiser phone, you will either see no caller ID or a number in your area code, even if the call is coming from a different area code.  I googled this particular number when a Kaiser member told me that this number showed up when I called and left a message.  I believe these are called "trunk lines" and many large businesses use them  as a way of paying for a local call instead of a long distance one.  It is frustrating, as I know that I do not like to answer calls from numbers I do not recognize.  This one is NOT a telemarketer.  I love 800Notes, and when I find that it IS a telemarketer, I am very glad that the recent iPhone softward allows particular numbers to be blocked.  If you touch the "i" in a circle by a missed call, you can then scroll down and select "Block this number."  What a great tool for reducing nuisance calls! I believe that Android phones have this capability as well.

I received 2 calls ...at 5:42 AM from this number on my mobile phone.  Yes - it's Kaizer as I'd saved the number when one of the appointment nurses called me a while back.  Why 5 in the morning is beyond me....  I don't want to block the number as it really is someone I need to talk to sometimes...but 5 in the morning??? yikes!

makes sense that it could be Kaiser - my son was in the Roseville ED but I live in the 510 area code. No message left, when I try to return the call, it's an inactive number.
