Phone rang 3 times and caller hung up . Redialed and an automated message came on thanking me for returning call and then a live person picked up but did not speak and I could hear typing in the background.

Called 3 times this morning.  Let ring and hung up. Called back no one spoke. Again only typing in the background. Did not call back the second or third time.

Today it was Chris "with the Oakland Tribune".

Received a call this morning, I did not answer, they left no message.  When I called back, the operator's voice stated that the number was "no longer in service".

This number has probably called me 15 times this past month. At first it would ring through until my voicemail picked up-they didn't leave a message so I didn't bother, But then the calls continued ringing once and hanging up about every other day, sometimes twice a day. When I returned the call, it claimed the line was no longer in service. It stopped for about a week and started again TODAY!! How do I make it stop??

Has called over 20 times. AT&T did not help at all. I don't know which is worse AT&T not willing to help or this place

Bastids. Calling my cell number numerous times, trying to sell San Francisco Chronicle. If that is a real address, It's not far from me at all. Maybe a personal visit will help. This sort of harrasment is illegal.

Called both my and my husband's phones; six times total so far. No messages, sometimes early in the morning (they woke me up this morning; my only day to sleep in). Jerks.

Called my cell this morning at 9:30. Annoying. I didn't answer. Annoying. Comes up as Fremont, CA

Call me once on my cell!!! I check and I learn that so many people have 1-510-505-1703, problem. Here is what you all can do:
1. Go to National Do Not Call Registry: https://www.donotcall.gov/
2. Fille out their info and they will stop
3. If not, follow up with "National Do Not Call Registry"

They called at 9:40 AM on the cell, Feb 15 2008.  Let's all go down there with an investigative reporter and bother THEM for a change.  Thanks all for the info so far - mediapromotionsinc.com huh?  The world is watching.  And, the Chronicle is terrible.

Just like yesterday, the San Francisco Chronicle called from the 1-510-505-1703. The time was 9:35, 02-16-08.  This is the same number that has plagued so many.  The worst part about it is that when we return the call, the line is either busy, or rings indefinitely.

Thanks for the suggestion "donotcall"; I had forgotten to register our cell phones.  Media Promotions Inc (mediapromotionsinc.com), who is running the San Francisco Chronicle telemarketing campaign, is proving itself (along with the Chronicle) to be a rotten company.  Let's push back on these bastards. Together we can!
