- Granny| 2 repliesUnknown caller from (510) 611-5932 didn't bother to speak - all the "free" searches cost money and the carrier can't help for some scammy reason.

- JoeyDee replies to Granny| 1 replyYou got it, Grammy: It's probably a scammy caller; ignore it in the future, don't call them back. If you can, pick up and hang up immediately, not giving the caller time to reach voice mail or anything. They'll stop eventually.
This forum is full, chock-a-block, with reports of similar calls from people trying to scam us. - MekutochiIdiot just called. She left a message that said, Hello? I have placed a REALLY short message on my system that says, "Leave a message, thank you." That seems to screw up their system and they "think" somebody actually answered the phone. It's my pleasure to waste some of their time - jerks!
- MekutochiJust called again. All I could hear were some minor background noises - no voices. May they rot in Hell.
- CCaller ID showed XXXXXXXXXX CA. I do not answer this type of call, and sure enough, they didn't leave a message either. Either a telephone marketer ignoring the DNC list or a crank call, neither one worth answering.
- manspamall you hear is background noise. no one says anything. hangs up.
- JenniferKeep getting spam calls from this number on my home phone

- LubyI did not pick up the call, and no voice message was left.

- Annoyed replies to JoeyDeeChances are this is a computerized robo-call (I get it too) and it doesn't matter whether you answer or not, whether you let it go to voicemail or not, or whether you're on the Do Not Call list or not. It's done automatically. Your only recourse is to block the number if you can or learn to just ignore it as I do. Don't EVER answer it even if you hang up immediately. That only tells the computer that yours is a working number. Hopefully yours (and mine) will eventually drop off.
- ThisGuyDistinct robo call "bloop" noise once you pick up...As soon as I hear that, I've started answering as Dominos Pizza, Home Depot, IRS, INS...or just start asking personal questions. (ie sexual history, shoe size, underwear type)...They won't completely stop, but I do get far less calls. Worst thing you can do is ask them to take you off their list. That just bumps you to the next list.

- AwareThey called, I blocked. Do you really think a caller ID of XXXXXXX is going to get their calls answered all the time?
