- geshifrin| 1 replyFake DEA agents wanted immedite $3135 payment delivered to 345 North Avenue, Dunellen, NJ; threaten to arrest me and my husband within several minutes if payment would not be made. Simultatneously called me home and my husband's office in Brooklyn, NY.
- Caller: Supposedy DEA
- fourbyfour replies to geshifrinAbsolute scam. Fake DEA piece of [***], loser. Report the moron to the authorities (immediately, as I did), including the DEA.
- William BurdenI received a call for a supposed DEA Agent saying I had a warrant out for my arrest and he suggested I get an attorney immediately. He said I had bought Oxycontin over the internet from an online doctor. Of course this is not true and I get all of my prescriptions through my personal doctor in my home town and use only my insurance company Mail Order Pharmacy Orchard.com. This was very upsetting to me and my wife and these guys need to be held accountable.
- Caller: DEA (false, I'm sure.)

- JPSame situation. This guy said that my mom was going to jail unless she made a plea bargain with him. I had him on the phone for 10 minutes before I started crying and he hung up. It makes me sad that people do this. A lawyer told me this scam has been going around and that I should google the number.
- Caller: pretend DEA
- BeSmart| 1 replysame call from this fake DEA Thomas Harrigan. Says I bought online meds. I have to say the guy is very good. I have had my share of scam calls in the past but this guy had me pretty convinced. He never got to the part where he asked for money or I would have known then it was a scam. After 15 minutes he finally tired of me and my "bad connection" cell phone and hung up.
Be Careful of this loser.- Caller: Thomas Harrigan DEA

- mevoI got the same call today. He said I was buying drugs at online pharmacy, I said no way, he said i have credit card, I called bs on it and told him to send it to me, he then said he was sending officer over to arrest me and started reading my miranda rights, before he could finish I told him he had the right to go f*** himself
- Caller: DEA
- Same ExactSAME EXACT NUMBER! Told me i had" bought something from an online pharmacy 3 years and 6 months ago" (his words)... I hung up, googled the number, called him back and threatened to call the DEA on him for falsely posing as an agnt and he got mad, yelled something and hung up!
- Just got this call tooI just got a call from this guy saying he was a DEA Agent and that I had bought from an online pharmacy 3 years and 6 months ago. I thought something was up when he wouldn't give me any information and in fact just kept trying to get information from me. He also kept insisting that I had made these purchases but wouldn't even tell me what type of credit card it was. He said he wasn't able to give me any information because that's how people become fugitives and then hung up on me. When I got home, I googled the number and thankfully this website confirmed my suspicions and I called my local DEA office which transferred me to an 877 number to report the fraud. Make sure you report it. The more people that report this same number, the more likely these people will get caught.

- Same thingGot a call today from a guy identifying himself as Anthony Williams, DEA agent. I asked where he was located & he said Colorado. When I asked for identification info, he said to look him up on the Internet. 5 min later got another call (prob the same guy, both had heavy Spanish accents) who identified himself as Thomas Harrigan, Chief Operating Officer at the DEA. Said he had a warrant for my arrest on his desk for violating the Dept of Homeland Security laws by purchasing prescriptions drugs online from an offshore pharmacy. Said they were shutting down the pharmacy and the owner testified against me for paying him with a credit card which allowed him to illegally import drugs into this county. Could mean up to 12 yrs imprisonment for me. BUT, if I would pay a fine of $1980 now, they would drop the charge. I went along for a bit and he eventually gave an address where we could go to pay the fine...it was the address of a Homeland grocery store here in town. Guess he came up with that on the fly & with Google. Gave me a case# but said no one at any local federal agency would be able to find it since only field agents had access to it. Also gave me a nice lecture about the horrors of drug abuse, % of use in this country, how 3rd world countries were threats to the USA and how he was only protecting our country and my health. Reported it on the DEA fraud line at 877-792-2873.

- smartgirlI got a phone call on Friday from a man claiming to be Thomas Harrigan from the DEA. Said I bought prescription drugs on line and that this was a Federal offense. Said that I was facing 3-5 years in prison for this "crime." Being a paralegal for 24 years, I asked him many questions regarding paperwork, etc. He advised me that he had a warrant for my arrest and that if I didn't report to a specific address IMMEDIATELY I could expect to be arrested that afternoon, transported to California where I would face 3-5 years in prison. Feeling that something was wrong, but in the meantime trying to get out to a medical appointment (I was in severe pain - am currently awaiting a liver transplant and am very, very ill), he got me so upset that I was prepared to go and meet his "agents"!!! He further advised me that he would offer me a deal - if I were to pay a fine of $2,700.00, immediately, he would make certain that this "charge" never made it to my record BUT if I involved an attorney (once he found out I was a paralegal) his "deal" was off. On my way to see where this location was, I stopped at my attorney's office who immediately contacted the local district attorney. Mind you, Mr. "DEC" had kept asking for my cell phone # so that he could tell me how to fill out the forms that I would need to fill out once I reached my destination (which I thought was the local courthouse! - in fact it was the local pharmacy!) Anyway, the DA contacted a friend of his who was legitimately with the DEC - while I had the fake "DEC" agent on the phone!! Interestingly, the address where the fake DEC agent wanted to "meet" was at the Western Union portion of the pharmacy!!! After speaking to the real DEC agent, it became clear that this man had somehow gotten into my medical records enough to find out what medications I was taking and took advantage of the fact that I am very ill. I feel ridiculous now, especially with my legal background, but he caught me at a time that I was so ill that I couldn't even think straight. To anyone who has had this happen to them - call your local DEC office!! This man is claiming to be someone he is not and if it had not been for the fact that I had the presence of mind to stop and see my attorney, I may be writing this $2,700.00 poorer. There are many people out there who are ill and whose records are apparently not secure - and many people who if they DID mistakenly pay that kind of money would find themselves in a horrible financial predicament. This is the worst type of scam that I have EVER heard of because it preys upon those that are ill.. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD and lets STOP this man!!

- DWIt happened to me today, the guy had me going, said he was DEA and had a warrant for my arrest because of an online attempted purchase 3 years ago. I had a local PD officer meet me at where I was supposed to give up a down payment of 400 on an 1800 dollar settlement. The place was closed but used to be a western union.
- Mountain replies to BeSmartI have to tell you. If you consider this guy pretty good, you are pretty dumb. The guy is calling himself "Thomas Harrigan". With that ridiculous "South of Our Boarder" accent? Are you kidding me?
- Stop Extortion Now| 1 replyGot a call this AM from a moron who claimed that I had purchased drugs online from a pharmacy who does business offshore and that they had "testified against me" blah blah blah. Since I have cooperated with the DEA in several investigations and have cancer and a real oncologist for my pain meds, I knew this was ridiculous. I had reported some fake pills before from CA pre-Ryan Haight act having to do with a friend, so I thought maybe they were calling for revenge on that. Anyway, this guy threatened me and when I told him that it was BS he said "I am getting a warrant for your arrest" and tried to read me my Miranda Rights but he knew like a half a sentance. Since I am an attorney and former federal prosecutor, I told him that I was going to make sure he was taken down for scaring the heck out of sick people. He hung up on me so I called him back and he once again stated "FEDERAL DEA STATE THE PURPOSE OF YOUR CALL" and I said that the purpose of my call was to tell him that I reported him to every single agency that he alleged that he was a part of and that he was impersonating a federal law enforcement officer (x2) and he should be the one worried about a warrant. I told him that I wasn't going to rest until he was shut down. As a cancer patient, I am disguisted that someone got my information and is abusing it in this fashion. I was the victim of identity theft around that time and now what the heck is going on with my personal info? I called a friend at Interpol for good measure since he mentioned off-shore. I also called several DEA and FBI jurisdictions which I believe he comes under. EXTORTION is a federal offense and these people are the lowest of the low. Thank God I had formed a good relationship with some DEA agents when I was told of fake pills. And thank God I have friends I have made through the years at other agencices. I vow to get them off the backs of sick people. I am using electronic counter measures and every time they call it will be recorded. My state is a one party consent state, so threaten away, MR HARRINGTON. PLEASE every report will be important if you get a call. The number of reports do matter. Each is a separate count of extortion but also convinces the agency of the seriousness of the case. Call 877-792-2873. If you did buy before the Ryan Haight Law was enacted, don't let that stop you from reporting. No one should be physically or mentally threatened or extorted. At the very least report all calls here and as much info as you can give. The last thing seriously ill people need is this BS. If I hadn't known how stupid his threats were (they don't tell you that they are issuing a warrant for your arrest--no courtesy calls from another part of the country), I would have been upset. I was upset because he had my personal info.
- someonejust got a call from this joker - such a dumb a$$

This story is online at ajc.com - Terrible CriminalThis guy has been calling me repeatedly for about 10 months, using the name "Officer Thomas Harrigan" and a few others. I have been messing with him right back since he is obviously a scam artist. The idiot keeps calling, even after I've told him, "Yeah, you called me yesterday and I know you are trying to scam me, you scumbag." He obviously doesn't keep track of the numbers he dials, as he has called more than once on the same day a few times.Caller: Officer Thomas Harrigan
- Caller: "Officer Thomas Harrigan, DEA Agent"
