ID themselves as "".    Wouldn't tell me where they are located.  Clearly a scamming sounding name for a debt collector.  Also call from 920-455-8354, 213-995-6231.  Standard debt scamming operation.  Threats of arrest, suspension of drivers license and so forth.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

    1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
    2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
    3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a  violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)  The same goes for endless telephone harassment

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking),  the only thing they understand.

Called me claiming to be a representative of San Bernardino court house and claimed she would be serving me tomorrow and wanted to know if i had two forms of ID as well as a witness. I told her she was full of sh**  that no LEGAL process server calls before serving anyone. Told her not to call me again or to threaten me again. Reminder her that it's against the law to impersonate law enforcement, then hung up on her. So tired of these people calling and claiming I owe money but they refuse to send out documents to show proof of their claim. When you out smart them theu begin to threaten you claiming jail and court hearings.  Their phone number is 510 926 6556 and the false case number they gave was 545 26

Called with Unknown ID. Left a voicemail with my last 4 digits of ss, case no., and my name. Caller identified herself as Loga Matterson (or something that sounds like that), a private courier in conjunction with Los Angeles County. Went on to inform me to make myself available between the hours of 12pm to 5pm at my place of work, to serve me, and if that attempt fails, she would be coming by my home. If i want to stop service, to contact them at 510-926-6556.

These people are so full of crap! They will try to intimidate you by threatening you. Do not listen to them, and above all, do not give them any money, because this is what they are after. Ask them to send you verification of all or any of whatever the "dept" is through U.S. mail. Of course, they will not because it's all a scam.

URS is a well known criminal enterprise pretending to be a debt collector.

Criminals masquerading as debt collectors attempt to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged (they use the bad check or hot check claim a lot) and go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished without actually being sued or going to court, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  One of the tricks they use is to call your family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money.  They will use the words “Mediator”, “Arbitrator”, or “Law Office” to make you believe that they are something other than a debt collector want-a-be and that they don’t have to follow Federal and State collection laws.  They do have to follow those laws, but they won’t.  They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer).  Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them.  Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else.

Read up on your rights here and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

Through either slurred speech or your own misunderstanding, I believe you heard "Asset Arbitrators". I think even you know we're not discussing a forestry business. Maybe someone can run with that to find a true business name. There are of course no arbitrators, only schemers trying to intimidate you into paying unproven and/or imaginary debts.

    1. Wages are garnished by court order - not because a cold caller says so.
    2. IF you were getting served, you would not be warned.

There are several excellent comments above your post with plenty of information.

It simply took me to google the return number that "Logan Madison" had given me to call her back (note: not quite sure if Logan is a male or a female). At first getting a phone call like that is alarming. However, I am one to quickly start investigating.. Especially if I am going to be "served". This is just beyond sad. How do these people sleep at night? When I started asking this "Logan" where she was located is when her "professionalism" was quickly replaced by her second nature Ghetto talk. "like where I b standing right at this very moment?"
"we don't normally tell somebody that they are going to be served, I am doing it as a courtesy to you"....(eye roll)
So, I then quickly *67 (blocked my number) and called 510-926-6556.
First person who answered my call sounded like a gentlemen straight out of the Louisiana swamp lands as I began to tell him how their company scam is all over the internet he hung up on me. I called back, and I am assuming my lovely ghetto friend Logan answered. As I then started to explaining to her (or him) how their scam is all over the internet she loudly started talking over me, "you believe everything you read on the internet" blah blah blah...Needless to say I will reach above and beyond to DESTROY these people!!! I am already on the Attorney Generals website now. I did a reverse look up and Google imaged their "company" which ultimately looks like a lot where they swap out money for an EBT card.
Please people, DON'T give them ANY information!!!!  I am going to stop at NOTHING to get these people behind bars! Who's with me?!?!

How can I verify whether or not a debt collector is legitimate?
Here are a few warning signs that could signal a debt collection scam:

The debt collector threatens you. Legitimate debt collectors probably won't claim that they'll have you arrested or claim that they or their employees are law enforcement officers.

The debt collector refuses to give you information about your debt or is trying to collect a debt you do not recognize. You have certain rights to ask a debt collector to verify the debt. You can use this sample letter to request this information. Ask for an explanation in writing before you pay.

The debt collector refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number.

The debt collector asks you for sensitive personal financial information. You should never provide anyone with your personal financial information unless you are sure they're legitimate.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

Ask the caller for his or her name, company, street address, telephone number, and professional license number. Many states require debt collectors to be licensed. Check the information the caller provides you with your state officials, or the state in which the debt collector holds a license. If the caller refuses or is unable to provide you with information about his company, or if you can’t verify the information he provides, do not give money to the caller or company.

Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." This notice must include:
    The amount of the debt
The name of the creditor you owe
A description of certain rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, consider requesting this information in writing or seeking assistance before paying the debt to make sure the debt, and the company, are valid.

Tip: You can consider sending the collector a letter requesting the information by using one of the CFPB's sample letters. You can also submit a complaint to the CFPB or you can contact your state Attorney General’s office.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know the company or person you are talking with is a real debt collector. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft such as:
    Charging your existing credit cards
Opening new credit card or checking accounts
    Writing fraudulent checks
Taking out loans in your name

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Submit a complaint with the CFPB or get in touch with your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers.

Stop speaking with the caller. If nothing else works and you believe the calls are fraudulent, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files.

Tip: You can use this sample letter to write a letter demanding the debt collector stop contacting you. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Tip: If you're having trouble with debt collection, you can submit a complaint with the CFPB online or by calling (855) 411-CFPB (2372).

    Stop SCAMS
Have been receiving calls from (510) 926-6501 x3207 Linda Santos with Mediation & Arbitration CLEARLY a scam. This number has been harassing me at home and cell with Mediation and Arbitration which clearly upon calling you cannot even hear the legal name of the company.  They say they have all your info. and want to verify but that they have your info and no need to give it to them.  If I haven't received anything with legal seals at home there is no need for me to speak to anyone over the phone especially when they are pushy toward you responding.
