This call came from the San Francisco Chronicle.

this lady called my phone and asked if i got my pink bag and i told her i dont know what she is talking about.  i asked again and asked for what company then she was trying to find out if i got the pink bag.  i again told her i dont know what she is talking about so she said that she said "yes essential pink bag".  i told her i dont know what she is talking about so i was asking more question so she was rude and hung up.

i feel that this is a scam number and so i checked it out on the internet to find out that it is a cell phone from the Hayward, CA area. i think it a person checking the address out because she did not ask whom they are talking to but gave my address.  

watch out for this scammer or theft.

I keep getting calls From this number. They leave a message that they are just checking the number and will call back later. EVERY DAY.

Continual phone calls. Mostly after 8:00pm.  Does NOT leave any message on answering machine.

This time she said she was with the chronicle confirming that delivery had started

reverse call said member services, if I want to remove my number from list press 1... why dont they go to DNC list and dont call the numbers that are there..

I kept getting calls from this number, but they never left a message. I finally answered today and she was calling to ask for payment for my subscription to our little local paper - which is FREE. She tried to get me to pay her $29 (using my credit card, I assume). When I told her the paper is free, she said she was talking about the weekend edition. Our newspaper only comes out on Wednesdays... I told her to take her scam elsewhere.

San Francisco Chronicle to confirm delivery of our Sunday paper, for which we placed an online subscription and paid with credit card.  The representative was polite and professional.  I used the opportunity to ask them to deliver the paper to the walkway and not in the bushes alongside the driveway; she asked for specifics and was anxious to correct the problem, offering to have it delivered to the porch.  She asked if I wanted to pay now for the first month and offered to take my credit card number.  I told her I rarely pay by phone and I already set up my monthly payment online so she should have that information and shouldn't be asking me for an additional payment.  She replied they are not able to see any credit card information and apologized for asking for payment.  This call was fine as a follow-up call and now let's see if the paper gets delivered to the walkway or porch.   I listed Call Type as an Event Reminder as this was a legitimate caller and that option is not listed.

I have also been receiving calls from this number for several days now in the morning and at night.  For anyone that ends up here, you can call the number back and there is an automated system that will remove you from the call list.  I just recently subscribed to San Francisco Chronicle, which is likely why they are calling me even though I already paid.  

This person called me twice today. The first time, I let the phone go to voicemail and no message was left. The second time, I picked up but nobody responded when I said hello.
