- Caller: N/A
- MKellogg| 1 replyThis is a scam and very treacherous. The person was possibly from India and called my hardline phone saying he represented microsoft, that he new my computer was freezing and had alot of pertinent information about my system. He grabbed hold of my computer and 'showed me the files' that were making my system slow. After gleaning as much information on him and the company he represented, I shut off the internet in the middle of his sales pitch of "...pay just $177.78 as a one time charge and we'll keep your computer free of things that slow and crash your system and keep your anti-virus software current'. The phone number that showed on the callerID was a 'spoof' number of 326-172-0000
- Caller: UNKNOWN NAME
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Harleymomma| 1 replyJust received a call from Ralph who stated he was with Microsoft and detected that my computer had issues and he could help clear them up. He wanted to connect to my computer remotely. I then decided to hang up as this did not sound right. He too was of India decent. I then googled the number and found that ppl have been scammed by the same number. The number came up on my caller ID as 326-172-000, but when I asked what number I could call him back at he gave me 510-962-4562. DO NOT THEM ACCESS YOUR COMPUTER!
- Caller: Claimed they were from Microsoft
- Jay replies to HarleymommaJust got a call from this same number. A bit disconcerting is that the person also had my home address. never the less, I hung up on him. He had no desire to give me any useful information and I'm certain Microsoft did not engage them to assist in the problem he claimed I have. My computer is acting normally and I have a virus scanner operating continuously. Beware------Never give out information or allow anyone to control your system
- midsy replies to MKelloggI hung up too and shut down my computer but he already had control of it. Did he do any damage to your computer ?
- Pamela in VirginiaA woman with a foreign accent called me at 8:00 a.m., claimed to be from Microsoft and said there were security issues with my computer. Since my computer is not connected to my landline, I got as much information as I could from her, including the phone number where I could call her back, before terminating the call. I have a credible and current virus protection on my computer and there are no security issues. Clearly a phishing scam.

- JoJust want to let you know they are still active. Got a call this morning from someone in India saying they were from Windows support. They too said my computor is generating errors and asked I look at my logbook. I asked for their name and number. They gave me this number but I couldn't understand her name...and I work with strong accented people from India. I asked tell me how to find the log and I would do it later. She insisted I do it now. After insisting I woul do it later she just hung up.
I hope most people have enough sense not to bite! - DanniesJoyThey're still at it, called from 969-682-2111. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize, they can leave a message & if I decide they are legitimate, I'll call them back. It went to voice mail and they left no message, when all that happened, I just blocked the number.
- Las Vegas 1They are back at it. Rosie called at 7:30 am. Same sales pitch as before. Foreign accent also--Indian? Asian? I kept her on the phone asking questions. If minor problem, doesn't cost anything. If major problem, $122.00 for lifetime protection.
- FraminghamJust got a call from Richard also of Indian decent, said all the same things as abova, they called my home 10 times in one day
NO Microsoft person would do that! Block the number!- Caller: Microsoft
- Mark in SwitzerlandI got a call in Jan 2015 and today from +1 510-962-4562 from a person claimed to be Alex Carter. Fortunately, my computer stayed offline on both times.
- LindaI was called at 10:00 PM from 510-962-4562 by someone saying they were a Windows technician. She said she was calling from London, United Kingdom and that my computer IP address is being used for illegally by foreign users. She said she had my Windows License ID # that is imbedded in the computer and I was to verify my number against hers by going into my computer. If my number matched hers, it would be proof that she was from Windows. She started by wanting me to locate the ctrl key and tell her what keys were around it. She was extremely, extremely persistent saying that if I did not verify this number so that she could shut out the other users, my Windows license would be blocked and tomorrow my computer will not work. So glad I didn't do as she said.
- Caller: says Windows Technician
- ClaudiaSounds like an overseas call from India. All three callers had an Indian accent. They claim they are from Microsoft Technical support and wanted my credit card number to do upgrades to my computer. I hung up

- Jonathan replies to DillingerI just got a call from the 510 number and allowed him to go through all of his speech and then I said -- wow, you guys are Microsoft are so smart I am so happy that you called -- the only problem is I am on a Mac, thank you and good bye.
- dbflatI got a call from 962-4561, no area code, just listed as 'out of area'. I let him get to the part where he told me to hold down the windows key and hit R. I told him at least 4 times that I didn't want to do that. He had an Indian accent and was very persistent. He did hang up after a while. How many people do they have working for them, anyway? I get several calls a week all under different #'s and I've run out of space on my number blocker.
