I keep getting calls from this number but since I don't know anyone in Elgin, TX I never pick up.  They never leave a message.  I'm on the 'Do not call list' but that doesn't seem to matter.  My Google search revealed that a number of people have received calls from this number, all unsolicited and unwelcome. I wish I knew a sure way to make them stop.

Modern technology has given telescammers the tools to call you.
Since those telescammers are criminals, they ignore both the Do Not Call list and any request you might make.
Modern technology can also protect you, if YOU do a few simple things!
The first thing to do is buy a call blocker device, service or app.
Then, use it correctly.

If you cannot afford or use such a tool, then:
* Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service
* Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers!  All that does is verify your phone number!  And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete.

Same spiel, breast cancer survivor solicitor. Got snippy with me. Hung up. I agree with not answering but I thought it was a work call.  Oh well...

I don't really know that this does any good; however, I hate getting these calls where they don't have the guts to tell you who they are and what their intentions are on vm. Even if it was a miscall the caller could at least say so. What a coward! I am also on a do not call list and I question whether it does any good.

I got call said her name was Tina Turner collecting for Breast Cancer told me how much to donate could take it off my taxes. I ask her about a real local org. Scare for a Cure and she never heard of them and her phone says Elgin, Tx she's just down the road from them. I also ask how she got my number and she said I would have to call corporate head quarters. I told her no take me off your list.
