Called saying I won a 50k home makeover with Direct Buy. They hung up on me faster than I could say I wasn't interested.

I have received 3 calls from this number in the past week. The number comes up as Elgin, Texas on caller ID. Today I answered and it was very noisy in the background like a call center. They said that my phone number was selected for a $50K shopping spree. I told them this is spam, and do not ever call me again! My phone number has been registered on the Do Not Call List for years, so I don't know how they got my number.

Just got a call from this number today. Caller ID said Elgin, Texas. I did not answer, and they did not leave a message.

I got a call from them at 3:41 on 5/29/2014.  I answered the phone, and after 20-30 seconds of dead air, there was disconnect on the other end.  The call came to my cell phone, which violates the Do Not Call statute.  Yes, my phone is listed on the Do Not Call Registry even though it is a cell phone.  Since there was only dead air, I suspect that someone is using a robo-call device.  The caller ID said "Elgin, TX".

My wife got a call from this number yesterday afternoon at her office, also a violation of the Do Not Call statute.  

I filed a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry, but I doubt that this will have any satisfactory outcome.  I urge everyone to file a complaint on this number so that it can be shut down.  I'm sure the phishers will get a new number, but perhaps we can chip away at their assets by having number after number shut down.

I have been called by this number several times, in the past two months. Cannot seem to "get through" when I  call them back. Have been on "Do Not Call" list for 6-7 years.Will try lodging a complaint to the F.C.C.  I totally agree with Poster, that the MORE of us who take SOME kind of action, the better it Could be, for hurting these fools. They Violate OUR RIGHTS ! Don't just sit back, and do nothing. I HAVE gotten other callers like this in trouble, before,with the help of so many other people reporting the Same issues. So, in SOME cases, our voices DO count! Please report these people !

Received a call from this # as well, stating that I had won a $50k home makeover. The person started asking for marital status n income info. Definately going to report this with the proper authorities.

This number (and another linked to the same direct buy scam) hit my cell phone today. Am on do not call list, wth? O_o

I'm getting the same calls and they started today too.

I got a call from this number today.  I don't answer any number I don't recognize so I didn't answer this one.  As usual with these number, no message.  I've been employing a new tactic against these calls.  I have call blocking on my phone and can also mask my number when calling out.  When I do get these calls, first I blook them then I call the number back, masking my number.  I have an Xcel spreadsheet I employe with about 50 different fart sounds and I crank up the volume on my computer when I call these numbers back.  When I get an answer I hit them with my favorite fart sound called the "Oprah Wind Free".  When they say hello again, I employ different other fart sounds including the "Sphinter Stinker", the "Skid Mark", and finally the "Anus Madness".  This one goes on for a good minute employing every fart sound available.  By the time it gets to the end, they've either hung up, or they'll utter some choice words and even make threats that they're going to file a complaint with the phone company and even law enforcement.  When they do this, I tell them to go ahead!!  I also inform them that I have filed complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, the Federal Communications Commission and the State Attorney General's office.  Using a few choice words of "encouragement" in then hand up on their [***] and I begin the whole process all over again.  

Shows up as Elgin, TX in caller ID - I didn't answer - no message.

Received a call from this number yesterday, I said hello a few times , then the call disconnected.  Received another call 20 minutes later, dead air and clicking for a few seconds, then a woman with what may have been a Russian accent told me I had won either a free iPad or a free trip for two from DirectBuy on Research Blvd.  Tried to get personal info from me.  I hung up.

I received a missed call from them.  Noticed it at 9:15pm so tried to call them back.  Listened to horrible music while the message "Your call is very important to us...." played.  No one came on the line, then I came here and saw who it was.  I live near Austin, TX, and the call came from nearby Elgin.

Woman with accent called saying I had won a $25k home makeover.  I feel cheated because others last year say they won a $50k makeover.  Probably Obama cut the awards so the illegals could qualify too?  Didn't let her finish her before I hung up.

Received a call from this number today and Google it. Figured it was something like that. I got dead air and then they hung up. I'll see if they want some false info when they call back.

Got two calls on my cell phone from this  number with no message left.  I called the number and got a machine message stating, "please hold the line, this call is very important."  I hung up and put them on my call block list (iPhone).

Number came up as being from Elgin, TX.  I am and have been on Do Not Call List for years.  I'm complaining because something has to be done to stop these types of annoying calls.

I agree with you we need them shut down. I received the same person and voicemail from 3 different numbers this one, one from Seattle Washington and a unknown caller ID. All in which left the same message.
