LOL.  Message left about calling them back before I get hauled before a "magistrate" for US Treasury violations.  Apparently a new number for these scammers.

Robo call from man with an accent warning me that grand jury was meeting and I needed his help. He mumbled something about U.S. Treasury and indicated I better call him back or I would regret it. Would be nice if the FCC or some other agency had these clowns on their agenda. Scary to think about what kind of scams may be pulled on more gullible folks.

Same thing, some bozo...believe he said his same was Steve Martin (that's funny!)...foreign accent....  but the caller ID indicates a name of Leo T. Miller...stating the US treasury has their eye on us (doesn't refer to us by name) and the magistrate and Grand Jury is after us and this is their second attempt to contact us....better call him or there could be trouble! Filing a complaint with the FCC in about 2 seconds.....

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

IRS Scammer trying to steal your money/identity. They left the following recorded message (caller did not have American accent).

"Hi my name is Steve Martin and this message is intended to contact you regarding an enforcement action executed by the United States treasury intending your serious attention.  Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense.  My number is 512-290-2968, I repeat that’s 512-290-2968.  I’d like you to call paid with us and help us to help you thank you"

Ditto on voicemail message left with an elderly neighbor of mine. Male caller, soft-spoken, probably mid-twenties with I believe to be an Indian accent. Although I told my neighbor it was a scam he wanted me to call them. I called the number back and the same person answered "US Treasury." He didn't talk very long and hung up. Reporting to authorities.
