Called me at 8:50 A.M. this morning (Sat.) and said there was something wrong with my computer and he wanted to help me fix it.  I was asleep and told him to call back at 11 a.m.  He never did.

THIS IS A SCAM. Read about the your-PC-is-infected scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!). If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it. THIS IS A SCAM.

Calling about pc trouble

Also calles by this number. How did they become my phonenumber? We live in the Netherlands.
However, I told the man that he probably dialed a wrong number (no, he really dialed the correct number, he said, with excuses that he didn't say my name well) and he started talking about my windows computer.
I asked him to send me an email, and he quickly answered that he would do that (without checking my emailaddress) and call me back after 2-3 minutes. He never did.

received a call from this number just before 10pm at night, in BC Canada.  lady with deep accent talking about my computer supposedly having viruses.  I bluntly said I know this is a scam, don't ever call here again and hung up.

Do not answer this number, it is a SCAM.

Got a call from them today, Canada, province of Québec !
Guy with a really big chinease accent, says he was a Windows representative, wanted me to open my computer live, says to me that it was hacked. Told him my computer was not with me, says he will call back.

I have a business in California with 6 phone lines.  I got a call from them on 2 different lines a couple of minutes apart.  

I kept asking who they worked for and because of their thick chinese accents I couldn't understand them, but it wans't "Potbelly Sandwiches".  I told the guy I knew it was a scam and he kept saying "NO SCAM, NO SCAM".  I got tired and finally stopped toying with him.

Do not answer this call. This is a scam that something is wrong with your computer.

A guy with a thick Indian accent, calling himself "Oscar Williams" called from "the computer department" to ask about my "Windows Computer".

Thank dog almighty that some criminals are morons!

got a call in Ontairo.  as soon as I told him I knew it was a scam he said "no, I am from Windows and I was just calling to warn you that there is ascm happening" I told him I was going to report him and he hung up on me.

Just got the call. Didn't answer as it showed up as an unfamiliar number on my call display. I've had my fill of these morons.

I've had a couple calls from this number with the latest being Nov 22nd... Comes in as "Texas" on my call display but nobody is there when I answer... Once I got the recording "goodbye".

They scammers are either morons or geniuses!

Just received 2 separate phone calls on our company number, with callers repeating the same speech - calling from MS, my computer sent an alert, etc...

The problem is - we are a computer support company, and when someone calls us, from phone system greeting message they can hear clearly what we do!!!

Phone calls came from 512-477-0300 and from 585-762-9938

I got a call 1 512 477 0300 told me he s from the health dept what a scam..I told him your from outside US dont call

I've gotten calls from this indian-accented man before.  He always calls for the same person - who I hate to transfer the calls to, as this person only has a cell phone, and I don't have the option to drop the call into voicemail.

Today he calls and could barely say the name he was calling for correctly, so rather than transfer the call, I just muted the call to see what would happen.  I could hear obvious sounds of a call center in the background.  Caller ID said it was Tops Market - 585-335-4717.  The caller eventually got fed up and hung up, only to call back immediately, only this time Caller ID said Potbelly Sandwi - 512-477-0300 - hmmmm, curious - that sounds exactly like what I was just listening to.......and then the same indian-accented man says "hello, hello" and hangs up.......only to call back immediately AGAIN.  This time Caller ID says Payphone - 818-890-3853.  Same call center noises I had been hearing seconds before, but yet another name and phone number.  After that third call, I have not gotten another call......yet, but the afternoon is still young.

I don't know who these people are, but I will not be connecting their calls any more.

Got a call early this morning in Canada from 512-477-0300.  An  Indian woman started saying that I just uploaded a virus to my computer.  She said that she was from a PC support company.  Right away I knew it was a scam.  Told her never to call again, and that I would report her to the authorities.

It's sad when people have nothing better to do than scamming others.  Thank goodness there are still a lot of good people in the world doing great work!

Just got a call from this number.  The callers accent was so bad I could hardly understand him and told him so.  He said there was a problem with my computer and he needed me to.....that's as far as I let him go.  I told him I was sorry but I couldn't understand him. Checked my caller I.D. and it was from PotBelly Sandwich which I'm sure is a reputable computer  shop.  HA!

We keep getting calls asking for someone named Elizabeth.
We have no idea who this person is and have asked repeatedly to quit calling, but they keep calling whether we go for days not answering  or answering and requesting they stop the calls.
