Got a call from 512-646-0025

Caller left a voicemail made it sound like he was calling to offer me work (this was my business line).  "I have a project I was hoping to get your help on, please call me so we can discuss it"

Winds up they're raising donations for the Shriner Circus and were looking for money.

Got a message on business phone, "this is Mike Wallace" and phone number....sounded very authoritative and familiar.  When I returned the call on my bosses behalf, Mike Wallace was not available, person I spoke with was clueless. I left a message....?????????

Scam caller wanting money (Dennis Snow)....

Caller asked for the boss by his given name - william then the caller asked if the boss went by william or bill (its neither and this was the big tip-off for us). We asked what company he was with were with.  the guy said he wasn't with a company and his name was Bob Jackson. Then the guy wanted to speak an officer of the company or someone who could sign a check.  We asked again what company he was with and then the guy hung up.

I answered the phone with "hello".  The caller said "Ms. (my last name)?  Before acknowledging I was the person mentioned I asked who was calling and they hung up.

Called 3 times in one night(23june) left no message.

Called about a week ago to pledge money, I never approved. I told them I would call back, instead I was sent with a bill in the mail. Watch out possible scam.

I got a call from this number. No message, name listed as a "C Moore". I've seen the number before.

called my job on several occasions. mentioning wanting to talk to a manager about "a special project". a coworker called back to find it was the shriners asking for pledge money.

Several calls over several months. Alway the same, never a message. I think it might be the same Shrine scam. I remember talking to them once years ago cause of the caller ID.

I got a call from "Bradley Olsenik".  No voicemail.  But after reading this post, I have concluded it was a solicitation call.   646-0025 is a scam

C.Moore calling about donations to upcoming Ben Hur Shriner Circus.  Googled it and went to their website.  It's a yearly fundraiser.  They represent Ben Hur Shrine Temple in Austin, TX.  Here's the web info: www.benhurshrine.org/fundraising/circus/circus.asp

I haven't called them directly (it's 7:30pm currently), but they can be reached separately at: 512-480-0812, if you wish to verify the solicitation.

In any event, they follow up with a personal visit to receive a check in exchange for a receipt and letter.  Sounds legit to me, but I haven't called to verify that this solicitation is as represented.  That's for tomorrow.

Got a follow up call to confirm information from the following number: 512-482-9366 which appears to be a telemarketing firm in downtown Austin called Cunningham & Moore, Inc.

Followed up today with the Ben Hur Shrine Temple in Austin, TX and this is indeed a legitimate deal.  They did hire Cunningham & Moore to conduct their telemarketing for them.  If you have any interest in donating toward sending handicapped children unable to afford going to their circus in January 2010, you'll have no problem knowing where your money's going.  If you have any questions, call: 512-480-0812.

Got a message from 512.646.0025...using my correct first and last name the caller said he was Garret Turner with Cunningham and Moore and to give him a call back.  With no other information...Cunningham and Moore is a telemarketing firm in Austin, TX according to google searches.  Will not return call.
