I found a card on the ground by my front gate this afternoon - Sorry We Missed You! - 1st attempt with the Austin Compass delivery number checked.  Called the number and spoke with Meaghan - asked what it was about.... "It's a welcome package, including coupons, for moving into the neighborhood".  She offered to email the coupons to me.  When I asked where they got my name and address, she hung up on me.  Glad I didn't offer up my email address and called from an anonymous phone number.

I called the number on the card, the woman explained that it was a welcome package with coupons to local stores and restaurants, then I was hung up on. This is obviously a scam. Highly suggest not calling the number.

i found this number on a scam site on another site and so i called the number and called them on the fact of them being a scam. told them i was home when the guy showed up but he didn't even knock on the door and the only reason i knew someone was at my door was because my dogs started barking. i asked why they were calling and mid way through the confirmation id number they hung up on me.

Same here... I was in one of my front rooms and noticed a car drive by.  Next thing I knew I heard a car in the drive leaving.  No knock and the card left.  As I was on hold after calling the number, I saw all the posts.  Thanks to everyone for the info!  I hung up and won't be calling back.

Received a "Sorry We Missed You" card taped to my front door (second one today).  We are new homeowners in the last 6 weeks.  The company name on the card is "Compass".  It had my last name (handwritten) along with the address (handwritten) on the card.  There are phone numbers for both Austin and San Antonio listed, along with a confirmation number to give when you call.  We are not expecting any packages, and there is no other business info listed on the card - such as an address or website.  In today's market, any legitimate delivery business would provide a website/physical address for you to follow up.  

From what I've read on this site from others, this is a marketing scam akin to reverse telemarketing.  Just throw away the card and don't waste your time.
