Male caller on my cell from "Texas Dept. of Health Services." I asked how he got my number and what he wanted. He said it was computer generated and it was about a survey. I said remove my number immediately, this is a private line, and I hung up on him. I would guess these are fake surveys done to determine if cell numbers are valid. There is no Texas agency with that exact name.

did not answer because I did not know the caller.  this same number has called here several times.

Unwanted survey call.  Cell phone is for emergency use by my family.  Stop the phone call to my cell. or will report to my State Attorney General, which is not Texas!

Called my number I live in NY. Did not leave a message so who knows what they wanted!!

If this is a hoax, it is a very complex and convincing one.  I received a letter today from the Texas Department of State Health Services saying that I would be being called by Clearwater Research.  I say "I" because I am the only adult in this household.  The letter explains that only one adult has been randomly selected per household and that the survey could only be given to that one person.  The survey would last 15 to 20 minutes.  I was busy with taxes so just put the letter aside and out of mind.  I never answer unknown callers and had forgotten when they called.  Later I looked up the number on this site, read the responses, and did some research.  I pulled the envelope from the trash and yes, it was postage paid from Austin, TX.  This department does exist, as does the MD listed--per 2 websites.  As well, Clearwater Research, the origin of the call on my caller ID also has a website. I have a return number to call and will do so tomorrow.  I suppose that if you don't get a letter you should not answer.

I have gotten two calls from 512-687-7855.  How do I stop getting these calls?

Received a call from this number to my do not call registered land line... no message left, but caller ID says it's from Clearwater Res..... I'm curious if they are from the Texas Dept of Health Services, why they would be calling a number in New York State.... Complaint being filed.

Caller said was from North Dakota Department for Disease Prevention and Control. Did about half the survey and hung up. They tried calling back, but I didn't answer.

Caller said was from ND Department of Health - doing a survey.  I haven't answered their call yet and just now after reading this blocked it.

Have received multiple calls from this number; no messages have been left.  I consider them nuisance calls.

Frequent calls from this number - Caller ID "Clearwater Residence".

I get multiple calls every day from this number and others that show as Clearwater Research when I use reverse White Pages. I have never answered. There must be a way to make it stop.

Got a voice mail from these people, claiming it was from ND center for disease control wanting to do a survey...the girl leaving the message spoke so fast and so soft that I could not understand her. Erased the voicemail, and will plan to "ignore" any future calls from this number or area code. Nice thing about caller ID and the ignore option on a cell phone is that you don't have to answer!

I got a call from them and they left a msg saying it was the Ny dept of health services and left a number for me to call back. I didn't.

Got a call from Idaho dept of health and welfare from this number. Answered some questions not all. I am nervous now. I usually don't answer these, I will block them in the future.

Just got a phone call from this number stating it was the Florida Dept of Health I said "seriously? on a Sunday night at 6:45pm?  Get a life" and I hung up...then I felt bad until I googled it and found this cite.  Glad to see it's a scam.

Have been receiving calls from this #  for the last couple of weeks, blocked on my landline. I don't answer any calls unless I know who it is, and they never leave a message....
