Bad connection but it was a computer saying hello and then saying can they speak to the lady or the man of the house please. I hung up.

Fraternal Order of Police This one from Austin, Texas. Received one the other day from Colorado. Scam!!!!!

there is no fraternal order of police  there is but it is not related to police departments anywhere.  used to do call outs for them  when I asked around and found they were not affiliated nor endorsed by the police departments and never forward any money to them I quit.

A call came in on my land line telephone about 12:45 (my lunch time) today, May 27, 2015.  Since I have a daughter who lives in that area code number, I recognized that it was coming from Austin, TX.  I also have friends living in the 512 area, so I checked with you to see if it might be one of my friends trying to reach me.  It is annoying to receive calls like this during any meal time at home.  I do not know how they got my land line number.  I did not answer the call, because I did not recognize the last four digits.  Thank you for your wonderful service.

Jan - it is very very easy to find someone's numbers on the internet, also - sadly - when you sign up for something that's totally unrelated to the FOP, they can get the number because they are sold, re-sold and re-sold again.  Unfortunately, the only way to keep that from happening is to look at a sites privacy policy.  It will say what they do with the information.  If it says they share with "trusted partners" - that's a red flag for me.  If it's a service/program I really want, I change 1 digit on my phone number....

However it's a robocall - there's nothing that can stop that.  And if you answer one of the robocalls, all it does is confirm that it's a working number and prime to be sold.

This number called twice this afternoon. Did not answer either call. Went to your 800 notes for information. Thank you for this service. If nothing else we can learn from each other what these calls are about.

A man said Texas State Police . I hung up .

No message left. Looked up number and found info here. Blocked number.

This number calls my landline and tries to send a fax. I hear the beeping noise and a message pop up on my computer screen asking to accept fax call. I just hang up.
