- San| 1 replyIf it is Car Warranty (I am sure if 'Crash' is correct, it may be used for multiple things), in Texas they have noted that the Texas Dept; of Motor Vehicles is selling all info (VIN, names, phone #'s, where you bought your veh., how much you paid, even where you financed and if it's paid off- most the same info a Police dept. can pull up when they swipe your Driver's License) so they have ALL your info. It can be scary b/c the info is all authentic. Think how scary this info can be if you're behind in payments or have had an accident, they can deduce a lot from that- handicapped?. Don't think they can see tickets, though, I don't believe it's based on your DL, just your Plate number.
Don't know where it stands now in Texas, but they were supposedly going to try and stop the selling of the info. The legislature was having a tough time b/c they like the revenue for selling the info, Sad. They haven't called me back (yet- when they did they didn't leave a message), but I get plenty of mailings that even list the options on my car, etc...

- EduardoCalled land line Saturday at noon. Caller ID read "Austin TX." We let it go to voice mail. No message. From reading the previous posts, it sounds like this is an outfit that makes calls for any organization that will hire them: Shady extended auto warranties, that fake Texas state trooper charity, etc. Bottom feeders.
- eddieApparently no longer associated with a car warranty. Now just scammers. Called and asked for wife and I asked about what, she said 'a case' and I said 'case of what, beer?' and she hung up. Lots of chatter in background too I may add, hard for her to scam with all the scammers back there scamming at once.
