    Answered because we purchased a car in San Marcos. Thought it might be our tags...NOPE...claim to be FOP (Fraternal Order of Police)...I stopped him after that sentence and told him we DON'T give money by phone and hung up on him...tried to google the number (512-738-8088--caller ID San Marcos, TX)...not much found...more than likely a SCAM and spoofed number otherwise I would be able to find this number on the TX FOP website!  DO NOT ANSWER IS MY ADVICE!

    YES!  The Fraternal Order of Police is a SCAM to raise money for the fund raisers.  A small percentage of their "tale" goes to charity to keep them out of the courts.  My son-in-law is a Policeman and he revealed that only the 100 Club is to be trusted.
