Called after I blocked a well known junk call number. Maybe a coincidence. Left no voicemail.

Caller ID = 768-8040, KEMPNER TX.  Since I didn't recognize the number or town, I manually blocked the call before my receiver went to voicemail.  But then I remembered I was expecting a call from a service shop that might have an unexpected Caller ID.  I live in area code 512, so I called back this number: 512-768-8040.  I got a recording saying "The number you dialed does not exist or has not been allocated."   Hmmm.  Maybe I was right to block it after all.

Received a call from this number.  They asked if I still had a metal roof, answered yes, then they hung up.

Robo-style delay after I said "Hello", then connected to a guy clearly (from the background chatter) in a boiler room phone bank.  Sufficient reason to hang up before hearing the pitch.
