- SarahLady with an Indian Accent called me from this number - said she was from D&B or something like that and asked for information about my business. She said if I had recently opened a business account that was the reason I was receiving this call and it was for credit verification purposes.
Unfortunately I gave her my email address and name.
She said she would be sending me information by email which I could fill out instead of talking to her. Haven't received anything yet.- Caller: Dun and Bradstreet

- JoI've received 2 calls from this number, yesterday and today both at the same time of night. I don't answer because I don't recognize this number.
- SamClaims she's from the DMV, getting information on a report that was filed, yet she doesn't know who she's calling. She wasnts all your information. SCAM!!!
- Angela| 1 replyGot several calls from the # 512-795-6439 & 866-226-1906 (Dun & Bradstreet) The people calling have strong accents & 1 guy said that he was calling from India. Could not get it thru to them that this is a residential number & dont have a business (never have had one either). Asked them to be taken off the calling list, that just made them call more. We got 4 calls in a 20 minute period of time til we had the phone company block the numbers that kept appearing on my caller id. Didnt give out any info to this company & would not reccommend giving any info out either.
- Caller: Dunn & Bradstreet
- slGot a call from a lady with India accent. I barely understood her. She asked for company info and verify the address. She gave me her name spelling like Chinese and gave me two different spelling when I asked for the second time. I felt spooky and checked on site and saw there were so many report on her. Her returned # is 888-239-5546 x 8746. I have identified her # as "potential crime #" The connection is bad so my guess she was using internet phone or forward call.
- Caller: Barely understood
- LisaI got a call from lady in India. Very bad reception. She said she needed to verify my mailing address. I confirmed my mailing address (she knew it already). Now I wish I hadn't, this kind of freaks me out. She asked me what I planned to do when my Citibank student loans became due in December. I told her I am forbearing the loans...don't know why I even gave her that much information. Then I said, "Thank you. I will call Citibank back in a few days." and hung up on her as she kept talking.
Called the number (512-795-6439) back and a man answered saying it was D&B. I asked him why I received the call and why the lady asked me for personal information, and he said to disregard the call if I don't own a business. What the hell does that mean? Why the shady stuff? Should I be concerned that someone is trying to take out a loan in my name for a new business or something?- Caller: D&B
- AngI just got two phone calls in a row from this number. One at 1:40 and one at 1:41. They didn't leave a message but I wanted to know who it was. I looked the number up online and it brought me here. I'm glad I checked because now I won't be answering if they call again!
- Pete| 1 replySame story here. A woman with Indian accent called me up at 10pm or so. She said she's calling from Citibank regarding my student loans. She knew some of my information, and I assumed that was Citibank. She asked me if I can confirm the address - which was the correct address. Unfortunately gave her my email address - she had one already, but it was slightly misspelled.
She knew how much are my school payments and asked if I wanted to place a payment now. The funny thing - the day after was supposed to be my payment due date until I changed that date a month ago.
Maybe they fish out some info through the internet and they try to confirm it?
Anyways, I told her that my payment due date is not until next week, and I will do it myself. When I started to search for this number online the following day, I found out about some shady activities. [***].- Caller: Citibank
- DanielleGot a call on a Sunday night from this number at 7:30. I don't answer unless I know the number. When I called back I got the answering machine. It stated it was the DMV and my call was very important, to please call back between 8am & 5pm. It is obviously some sort of scam. The whole message was so general. Definately a scam. What state is this DMV supposed to be from. What scares me is that I have heard so many horror stories about student loans and people accidently giving away personal information.
- Caller: "DMV"
- Call type: Valid
- leilagot a call from this number on my cell phone and didn't answer. they didn't leave a message. a few seconds later my home phone rang (we screen calls there also but no caller ID), and no message. seconds after that they called my cell phone again.
if it's important enough to call me three times, they could've left a message. - Nicole replies to PeteExactly the same scenario. This person knew my whole address, my email, and obviously my phone number. Concerning. How is this information secured, if it is at all? Who was really calling me?
- LynnSame deal--a "Randy Smith" with a thick mystery accent (possibly Indian, possibly Eastern European) called my cell at 6:50 am on Saturday and left a message claiming to be from Citibank student loans asking to confirm my info. Oddly, the phone number he left in I had any questions (800-967-2400) is Citibank's phone number. I've also gotten messages on my land line, and I've always refused to call back, or even take down the number. I get my statements, I pay. Clearly they go to the right address, there's nothing to confirm. I only checked this b/c I was so POd at what I thought was Citibank calling me at the crack of dawn on a Saturday, especially since I pay on time, etc.
- Caller: "Randy Smith" from "Citibank"

- kimI came in this morning and received this message on my company voicemail.. She said her name is Sara from I believe she claims shes from the DMV (DNB?) from Broad Street..Something about a credit investigation and to call back to update information. Thick accent and bad reception.
- Caller: DMV DNB
- AzBiz1234A lady with an Indian accent claiming to be from Dun & Bradstreet called, asking me to verify my company information. She knew information that is posted on D&B, so at first seemed credible. I got suspicious when she asked me for home address, personal email, detailed sales information, career history etc. I curtailed the call asking her for her information...would only give a supposed first name of Jane, and a callback number of 1 888 234 5546 Ext 8575.
Glad I didn't divulge more. Watch out for this scammer.- Caller: Claimed to be Dun & Bradstreet
- SamGot call from this Number and was asking for personal information and address verification for credit related checks,I refused it.
It seems the accent was chinees. - DianeI received a call on my cell phone from this number about an hour ago. I didn't recognize the number to I sent the call to voicemail immediately. Within 2 seconds, another call came through. I sent it to voicemail again. A man with a very heavy, possibly Indian, accent left a message for me, claiming to be from Citibank Student Loan Corporation. He said they were still waiting for my response to the documents they sent me, and left a strange return phone number. I never received any documents from Citibank. Suspicious, I called the (512) number back, and the message claimed to be "D & B". The whole thing sounded fishy, so I googled the phone number and came up with this page full of shady experiences. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY INFORMATION!!!
- Caller: claimed to be Citibank
- megzjust received a call on my cell phone minutes ago and also found this site on google. did not pick neither did they leave a message. seems very sketchy.
