I had a Jonathan call me from this number - said it was in regards to a bad check from 2008... made me nervous as he told me if I didn't pay it back by the end of the day, they would send the paperwork to my local county sheriff and issue a warrant for my arrest. I've never been in trouble before, so I freaked... fortunately another person I know has been through this before and took note of certain things. We called the local DA and discussed the conversation with them and to validate the process. We were informed this is a scare tactic used by collection agencies. The process that the court system follow is to notify the individual by letter/notification, and then if there is no response, they proceed with the issuing of a warrant. We were also informed the statue of limitations for bad checks in Texas is 2 years for under $1,500 and 5 years for over $1,500.

I also received a call from this number today.  Said his name was Robert Beck with Beck, Thomas and Associates in Austin Texas.  Was concerning an old payday loan I took out from 2012.  He said they had already had contacted my local county sheriff's office and that I would be picked up within the hour if I didn't pay this debt today.   The warrant was being signed off on and they could identify me at work.   I told them I had already paid this debt twice now.  They said that apparently I had more than one loan.   They gave me one hour to call them back or the papers would be sent over to the sheriff's office and I would be picked up.  They gave me a case number and said that there were two felony counts and one other misdemenour I would be charged on.    I am not going to give in to their tactics.......they are violating all kinds of laws....if I am wrong, then I will know soon.

Call me too I didn't answer after I see this.  TOtal scam!

They called back to my work and asked to speak to my supervisor!  I had told them earlier to NOT contact my work.    I am going to file a complaint against them.
