I just did a reverse lookup on that number because they called me, too.  It said Easter Seals.

They called me and non one was on the line when I answered. Way to go, Easter Seals.

Caller ID = "EASTER SALS".  I've gotten this call a number of times, typically spaced a week or two apart, sometimes with Caller ID spelled slightly differently. The local Austin number is assigned to "Easter Seals" in official phone directories. It may be a scam, but even if it's not it's behaving as a telemarketer at best, repeatedly calling lists of numbers and ignoring requests to stop calling.  I recommend treating it as hostile.

Caller ID states UNKNOWN but reverse lookup says Easter Seals.  I answered, but no one was there.  Very annoying.

Called today Oct 24 at 10:02 am and no one was on the other end?! When I called back it just kept ringing and ringing. From earlier posts it could be Easter Seals. Easter Seals has called several times in the past year and just last week.

Easter Seals call so often that I have blocked their number permanently. They are a valid non-profit organization that I might donate to under other circumstances, but they are never going to get a donation from me through calling repeatedly every couple of weeks!

This number called me at 8:50pm. I didn't answer but took down the number. 512-833-5119. They shouldn't call at this time of the late evening, it's my time. Thanks

I use the website nomorobo to block a large number of these kinds of calls.  This call was effectively blocked so the phone never rang, but it shows up on my caller id.  Easter Seals regularly calls my number and I would say they are one of the top offenders for constant phone calls.  Makes me NOT want to donate to a charity that is really a very good cause.

Try these alternatives:

1.  Do not answer the phone if you see an unknown number on your Caller ID ... let it go to answering machine or voicemail.  Many telescammers hang up after 3 rings.

2.  If you have a smartphone, get one of the inexpensive or free phone blocker apps at your online app store, and learn how to use it.

3.  If your cel is not "smart", read the manual to learn how to set up a "group".  Assign the scammer's phone number to that group.  Also assign a "silent ring" to that group.  You will not hear future calls from that number.

4.  Google NoMoRobo, and visit their site, to see if your phone system is compatible with that system.  (It may or may not be compatible).

5.  Contact your phone service provider.  They may have a facility or method to allow you to block numbers.

6.  If you buy things online, you might want to google "Amazon phone blocker" to see what devices or apps Amazon has to offer for landlines or smartphones. Similar devices are for sale on eBay and other online stores.

I called back and it was Easter Seals. They were calling to schedule a clothing donation pickup in my area. I found there website and checked it out to make sure it was legit and it was at donateESTX.org

The caller I.D. from 1-512-833-5119 is identified as "Easter Sals".  It is a scam.  This number does not belong to Easter Seals in Austin, Texas.  Block it or let it ring, but don't answer it.
