- ATXTelemarketing scum, "you've been selected for a home makeover".
- RBTelemarketing: You have been recommended by your relative to become member of "Direct Buy"...
- Call type: Telemarketer
- DneiseReceived a call on my cell phone Tuesday, 12/10 at 7:52pm. When I answered, no one was on the other end of the line. Googled the telephone number 512-898-1212 and ended up here. I am on the state and federal DNCLs but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
- Francis Farmer512-898-1212 called me but didnt leave a message. i called back and call would not go though. losers.

- Brushy CreekThey called saying they were from Direct Buy and that my phone number was randomly selected and that I won money and a trip. It's a very big scam. Direct Buy charges you $5,000 to join and if items were discounted 25%, then you would have to spend $20,000 in order to break even. From friends who have joined Direct Buy, they tell me that they find things cheaper on-line than at Direct Buy. So there are no real discounts there. And once you sign the contract, you are locked in for 3 years and if you finance the membership dues with them, they charge you just over 17% in interest.

- Austin TX localGot a call from a woman with a thick accent. something about signing up for a $50,000 home makeover at HomeDepot ( I think i did this..?) anyway I couldn't under stand the person after having them repeat themselves a few times so I figured it was a scam. Supposedly they got my phone number from a home depot survey.
- Caller: Direct Buy/ Home Depot?
- Call type: Telemarketer
- anonymousA woman called and said that I won some sort of home improvement sweepstakes. I've never entered anything like that, so it seemed like a scam.
- Caller: Home Depot?
- anonymousThe thick accent is right - got the same call, finally asked the woman if she is able to speak English and she hung up. So the number still seems to be up and running and harassing people.

- ME| 1 replyCall started out with a clearly foreign woman shouting "HELLLLLLOOOOOOOOO" over a large crowd of people. When that happens you know you're in for it. I never did understand what she was saying, based on the other recent callers she was calling from "Direct Buy Company." Hung up without waiting for more information.

- gostephi replies to MEsame, exactly the same. i told the idiotic, non-english speaking moron, to never call again.
- Austin, Texas Local| 1 replyI'm not even sure how they got my number... A woman with a thick accent told me that I had been selected as a semi-finalist in some kind of monetary reward. She said it was a special promotion for couples, then asked me if I was happily married. The catch is, I'm 15. Immediately after, she said that there would be some edits to the promotion and told me she'd call back... Good to know that other people found this just as fishy as I did.

- anonymousGot a call from 512-898-1212. I do not know this number. Unwanted call.
- AustinTX replies to Austin, Texas LocalReceived a call from their outsource call center. At least they asked me how old I was first. I told them I was single and they wanted to make sure I brought someone else with me as the "prize" was for a couple. I guess their statistics show couples are more gullable. If you are using these high-pressure sales tactics, making people sign a contract when they are there, and only offering a 3-day opt out, your product does not have real value.
- E Mgot call from this number on my cell phone for the 2nd time just now, answered it because no one calls my phone other than family. this is about how the conversation went:

- C.T.My caller was male and totally unintelligible. Kept trying to tell him I could not understand him, but he didn't seem to get it, so I finally hung up. *Lots* of background noise on his end.
- Casesame call from this number as everyone else reported. didn't have time to talk but was trying to understand what the company was so i could try to figure out how to get off their call list. i asked her to send me an email about it so i could look at it later because i had to step out of a work meeting to answer. gave her my email 10-15 times and she asked for my first and last name so they know who to address it to. i only said "Case" - i'm not positive but i could have SWORN she said "if you just don't want to give me your full name because you're not interested, would you tell me so we can be friends?"
