      We've been getting a call from this phone number at least 5 times a day starting at 8:00 a.m. for the past 6 months!!  Someone's trying to send a fax to our home number.  I've called the number back and was told that the call could be coming from any one of 23 different departments.  Very annoying.

    I also received a call from a person saying they were with Austin Police.  The weird thing was this was at 1:00am.  They knew my place of employment and such, though I didn't really have much information for them anyway.

    Yes, it's the main number for the City of Austin.  For example, I just received a call from this number for the Austin City Transportation Department.

    I received a call from this number from some man claiming to be a police detective. He kept throwing out names and asking questions trying to get me to verify- what I don't know. He stated several times that no one was in trouble that he just needed to speak with someone.

    They called back a second time but didn't leave a message.

      It is the APD, they called me in SLC, Utah, regarding online consulting services.

      ...Did you know anything about what they were asking you?  Can you say what it was regarding?  Just curious what they are investigating, these days.

    this number keeps calling and leaves no message. When I call it back a recording says: you have reached 311, if this is an emergency call 911.

    I just called back the number and they are claiming that it is a generic # for the city of austin. I am currently on hold to see about filing a complaint as they are calling corp.  i will update asap.

    I was getting dead air though with nobody on the line
