- SmarterWhat I do with all solicitors is store their number in my phone and attach a consecutive number to it. For example... I store them as "Sol1" (short for solicitor) then "Sol2" and so on. I am up to "Sol390" now! It only takes a couple of seconds to store the number but can save minutes of answering the call and/or listening to a VM from them. When one of these "Sol" calls come in I simply answer it and immediately hang up so it can't go to VM. So, instead of being aggravated by these calls, I now feel empowered because I have the upper hand of knowing it is a solicitor in the first place and then I get the satisfaction of being the one who controls the situation by answering and just hanging up on them!
- mark ferrellthey had called me 3 to 4 times.
they hang up after I say hello - *%&*^%#!%!I called back and blocked my number by using *67 before dialing 1 and then 866-826-0823. The 866 number was given by a recorded message saying I had won a $25000 prize and needed to make contact.
A guy answered and put me on hold. He never picked up. I finally hung up. Then I Googled and found the incoming number 512-999-3300 is a SCAM and is associated with many different attempts to get people's financial information.
I recently got the idea that when a scammer asks who they are talking with, I respond, "This is the State Attorney General's Office, how can I help you?" They hang up in a micro second. LOL- Caller: Prize Recovery so called
- InjuneerYes, this is my lucky day. Per a voice mail - I don't answer these phony calls - I won $25,000 in a giveaway from "sometime back". Damn.... I can't wait to claim my prize. I suspect all I have to do is call them back at 866-826-0823 and provide them with my social security number, date of birth and a credit card number. Arghhhhhhhhhhh.
Are there stupid people who actually fall for this stuff?
Scum-sucking, bottom-feeder scammers.- Caller: Scammers
- On do not call listI have received multiple hang up calls from this number. Appears to be bot caller or auto dialer. Caller ID gives number and just says TEXAS.
- ChrisSo sick of this number calling and then hanging up without saying anything. We are on the do not call list but they don't check before calling. Sad thing about these types of calls you block the number and then they start calling using another number.
