Caller claiming to be from check fraud divison. requested my credit card information over the phone that I did not give out

It started last Thursday, a man identifying himself as Jay Cauffy or sounded as such...has been leaving messages every day indicating we are involved or named in a fraud investigation..he gives two hours to respond..yet calls every day.  We have been keeping the messages to file report

I just received a call from Jay Calsey (sounds like how he spelled it) saying I am named in a fraud investigation. This is the 2nd call I have received from this area code for the same reason. The 1st one came from a Jessica Blane saying the same thing and that she worked for a lawyer named William J Rapp. I called his office and they said there is noone that works there with that name and even checked the account # she gave me which did not exist. These are scammers trying to get credit card info or money. Do not send them anything!!

I get the same message for Jay Cauffey. I know this is a scam and will be reported.

Did you do any follow up or anymore research on this?

Who are you reporting this to? What did they say to you? They are saying there is a warrant out for  my arrest.

He told me that I was under investigation for check fraud for a supposed internet payday loan. He told me that there are felony charges going to be processed and that he was sending someone out to pick me up. He also told me after I asked for proof of the loan, he advised me "that you'll have plenty of proof when you are in the slammer". Advised him that under the Fair Debt and Collections practice I have the right for proof of the debt before any action can take place and he said that he would be sending police to arrest me.

the number above called me left voice mail on my cell phone had my old adress said i had outstanding bill from my old home town and checking acct if i did not pay him 1389.00 that cops would arest me for bad check had my old town adress my old po box number and everthing from 7 years ago and then without thinking gave him my acct number and now it is drained and im broke and very upset dont know what or who to call just very disturbed that was my bill paying money now just looking for answers his name was Jay Calsey

My wife got a call yesterday from 513-223-7726 claiming that she was under fraud investigation. Claimed it was from a payday loan. They claimed to work for a company and I called the companies owner and he stated that he had nothing to do with it and he had gotten other calls about these idiots. If you get a call from people like this, hang and up and call your local police and file a report then also go to the website of your states attorney general and file a complaint with them also.

Received call today 02/20/2012...said he was  filing a warrant for my arrest..check fraud. I would be arrested tomorrow morning by my local sheriff's department.  I responded with the question what was this about and said I would contact my lawyer.  He then turned me over to a supervisor...who insisted that I would be arrested no matter what...but arrangements could be made to stop the process. I insisted I had no knowledge of what he was talking about...and I would contact my sheriff's office and ask about the warrant.  He then got very arrogant and insisted that the process had not been started and could be stopped with a settlement.  I told him to go ahead and file the arrest and I would contact my local sheriff's dept.  He then got upset and asked "if I was sleeping with the sheriff???" I told him he had just went over the line...and I was contacting  the local authorities and hang-up. I certainly hope this ******* get caught...he seemed to know alot about jails so he probably was just released.

Scam.. they call from a cell phone and they claim to be working for a company called Ohio Intel, I called the owner of Ohio Intel and they do not work for them and he said he had quite a few calls in the last week asking the same thing.  His attorney is going to contact them.

Ok now the scammers are calling from a Jamaica number now   876-470-2968

513-223-6771.  Same thing everyone here has said....and they call my cell phone.  So I have blocked their number.
