ACT it is collection agency.   It is Account Control Technology, Inc.  They bill themselves as college loan consolidation  but they are debt collectors.  They have called me even though I have no debts.   The first person would not tell me what company they were or how they got my name.  They gave a bogus name and SSN and then asked inappropriate questions.  I informed them that I was on the national do-not-call list.  A very short argument later I was able to tell them to never call again.  Apparently they have been calling my front desk every day, again. This time it is Paula Moore (unknown spelling).  I am beginning to gather my paperwork and record phone calls so I will be able to file a lawsuit against them.  i suggest you do the same.  Apparently they have been calling my front desk every day, again.

They called me saying I am listed as a reference for Michael Collings.  When I said I didn't know the person and asked for the company she was calling from she said IT something generic. Can you explain to me the scam? Or what they're doing? I don't have any outstanding debt and they didn't ask me for anything

I am on national do not call list and I do not give this number out unless I know the person  !! No message was left so it couldnt have been to important !!

They called my next door neighbor inquiring as to if they knew me and where I worked etc.  I called and they were jerks on the phone not answering any of my questions I've never used my neighbors as any ctedit info.

I looked them up. They do payment plans and garnishments for the Dept of Education. If they are calling u should prob answer.

They make people give them references, so they can be placed on a rehab student loan pay plan, but then make it impossible to maintain; with all the double talk and run around.  These jokers should be reported.

They called me about my friends husband saying he gave them my number so I could give them his number!   My friends husband has no clue how they connected me with him. I would like to know how they did!!!

Legitimate phonecall.  Called me this morning and I did not pick up, checked the number out on this site.  I called back and they were calling to inform me that the officer handling my loan had changed and provided me with her contact number in case I had any further questions.  Did not ask for my SSN, just verified my name, address and DoB.  If they call and you have any outstanding loans (student loans in my case), this is a call you should probably take.

They are rude, disrespectful & annoying! You work for them, don't you!

Called today (Saturday) at 7:22 AM. Phone rang 2 times, then stopped before the answering machine could even give an outgoing message. Obvious DNC and Fair Debt Collection Act violations.

I received a call, called them back but they had all of the wrong personal information except the name.  Asked if my dob was a certain date, if my last 4 matched what they had and if my address matched. I advised no, and they said sorry must have wrong number.

The name is the same but two different numbers  (513) 234-3420 and (313) 879-1359, this is ACT. JC is right avoid these people at all cost don't give them any information.

I missed a call from them so I called them back asked me to hold. The guy then told me that THEY had called the wrong number...that was it...

Just got a call from them about a family member....My cell went dead to text the person in questioned and tell them but he never used me as a reference...looked them up n found this...so thanks...I called them back n told them to go F- themselves they ain't getting info from me!!!!!

It seems from what I have read here and suddenly getting a call from these people they may be the bottom of the barrel debt collectors for student loans.   Last year, I was getting many call from the student loan administration for a "Lakesha", who owned money on a student loan.   Not me, nobody in my family and nobody I know, so just ignored the calls as I thought it was some scam.   Going to ignore these because I'm not the person they are looking for so any garnishment will be in Lakesha name not mine.   They are calling a cell, so can't link it to a physical address, so hopefully they get tired and just try and sue the person that really owes the debt.   But they are bottom feeders and remember NEVER give ANY information of your own, not name, address, DOB, SSN NOTHING....if they have it have them recite it to you and then refuse to verify.  
Anything you do for these bottom feeders only help them.

called my son's cell today 9/4/14 a little before 5 pm attempting to get my personal info. F ** them.  don't know how they got my son's cell #.
