just received a call from these guys...  didn't answer and they left a few seconds of nothing on our answering machine.

called and received a "disabled firefighters fund" recording.  hung up..

checked the Ohio AG's website.  can't tell if this is a legit charity, based on name on recording vs. registered charities listed on AG's site.. but if so, they're exempt from 'do not call' legislation.

called back.. voicemail again.. and left message requesting immediate removal of our number from their calling list.  according to documentation on the Ohio AG's site, you MUST request removal or they can continue to legally call.

if they continue to call us (or you)... they MUST fully disclose details about their charity (full name, address, etc.), and they *should* answer additional questions that you pose (i.e. what % of the monies you collect actually goes to the charity?).  if they don't, they're probably NOT legit... so contact the Ohio AG (or AG of your state) and file a formal complaint.

Ohio has sued this 'charity' in the past (believe in 2004)

Charity Beware.  You never know to whom you are speaking.  There are some very savvy cons out there.  I'm reporting the number to the "do not call" registry and if they receive enough complaints, they will get investigated.

Please be aware it has been reported that a former employee of one of the Paid fundraiser has been on this site and lying to get back at the Fundraiser, every call is taken seriously and if anyone wants to be off the Charities Call list in Question. You need to call the Charity in question, Corporate office and they will be happy to take you off that Charity phone list only. I have also noticed several other names on here that are not connected so please be sure which Charity called you so that Charity can help you off their list.I again take every call very seriously and calls are to be professional and polite. I RECEIVE A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER EVERY COUPLE OF DAYS. I ALWAYS LET THE MACHINE PICK UP IF I DON'T RECOGNIZE THE NUMBER. THEY DON'T LEAVE A MESSAGE... BUT THE CALLS ARE A NUISANCE.

second time they called here. 8:13 am this morning. last time was in February. No voice on other end.

attemped to file a complaint with "do not call" call.  This is what appeared after answering their few questions.

determine solicitation. called today an hour ago. This time a female voice spoke. calling for my father. he wasn't available. she will call back and hung up.  Missed the opprotunity of telling them of their hang ups and silence

I have gotten this call 3 times in the last 2 days, every time before 10:oo a.m. and the caller says nothing!

determine people. called 9 am today. father answered (who they wanted). father said not interested on fix income.

Darn! Hoping I would have the chance again of answering. Was would drill them with question. "do you know people are posting this number on a website as being annoying caller".

called at 730 pm nothing left on answer machine but silence  i googled the number and found this how great!! i called back and got answering machine said disabled fire fighters fund is having annual fundraiser your support helps i left message to be removed and said tired of moments of silence left on answering machine.

As a firefighter this company makes me sick to my stomach.

@ Cole, if your a firefighter in ohio? DFF has helped several fire personel their we are National so we help any firefighter who needs help im not sure why you folks dont just call the charity directly and get your name off the list, I know for a fact there are several ex-employees of a fundraiser on here and other sites lying and trying to cause trouble. this is a great charity that does help Firemen and Women and supports Burn centers and the ones who are here lying shame on you.

Ohio Call 513-279-4010,  I didn't answer, they hung up when answering machine came on. First time call with this number.

Received phone call from this number, again.  When I answer they hang up! I understand the caller represents a 'non-profit organization.'  Guess they didn't give me the pitch, since I never make donations over the phone.

I've read all of the "posts" on our friendly firefighter organization.  I've read (and repeatedly read) a posting from June 3.  Supposedly, the posting is/was from a person who may or may not have had a connection to the "charity" in question.  If the June 3 posted message was an attempt to clarify suspected wrong-doing by said charity ex-employees, I must have missed the point.  Either I couldn't understand the message or the person posting it could have asked another person to check the content for grammer, spelling, punctuation, etceteras.  I found that the entire message could have used some polish.  I've always found my community firefighters to be literate and well spoken, as well as well mannered--and they don't try to elicit funds from the community either for themselves or for others.  The last time our firefighters raised funds for others was in the aftermath of September 11, 2001.

They've called twice tonight and when I answer they don't say anything.  Very annoying! I think the next time they call I'll blow a whistle in the phone!
