Pinged me via SMS using my name..I have no idea who this person is and they didn't respond when I asked who they were

Same thing happened to me yesterday.  Text message to my cell phone using my name.  Weird!

Same thing here. Rec'd a text, hola lynn and then wanted me to add them on yahoo messenger to find out who they were...txtiechk55???? I'm not into games so I just didn't bother with anything more.

Got a text saying "Hey Mitchell!!!! I asked who it was and got no response. Hope i dont get some virus from responding

Did the same to me as my name I Brandon, too. Two nights ago.

Got one tonight that said hey Jamie on it.  I wonder how they are pulling cell #'s.  My wife got the same thing from a different # out of California tonight as well.  Pulling from FB possibly?  New workaround for spammers-

I got the same text on my cell last night at 736pm...hello & my name.  I responded and asked 'who is this' but got no response so I filed a police report on it today.

Just got a text from this number with my name.  They asked me to message them on Y!, I asked who they were, and got the response, "omg..mi phones gonna die".

Weirdos.  I'm also thinking maybe it's from facebook...?
