- AC| 2 repliesReceived a call from Frank Scott for a personal assistant job. He said he was a journalist. His first "assignment" for me was to print payroll checks for him. I was supposed to go and get the check papers. When I looked up his number and confronted him with all of the above information, he immediately logged off. He got my resume off of Career Builder. This is now the 4th check writing/cashing scheme that I have been a potential victim of- and ALL of them got my information off of Career Builder. I removed my information from their site, but have still seen it up there. Maybe they are part of the scam as well.
- Caller: Frank Scott
- Sucker. replies to ACFRANK SCOTT!
Responded to ad on Craigslist for PA work. Seemed like a businessman in need of help. His name was Frank Scott, and his emails got sketchy: I should take the check he sends, deposit it in my back account, keep a chunk, send a cashier's check to so-and-so. I started looking up money-laundering scams and when Frank called me he sounded like a foreigner in a faraway land, hardly a white bread businessman. - SS| 3 repliesAdam Longus was the name I was given. Again a Craig's List post for PA work for a research journalist. The express package is on it's way with a "check". I figured this was a scam but hoped it was legitimate work.
- ASent me a "cashier check" in the mail and it didn't seem right so I did research and found this. I will be returning the check and possibly calling the police.
- SamanthaHave not received a call. Received an email pertaining to the same position but that this is a Victor Shadrach from ohio sending a "package" as well 'wants me to deposit it and then send to someone named Andrea in South Carolina for an orphanage.
- msbh| 1 replyI did not receive a call however I googled the number in this Craigslist posting which led me here. This leads me to believe this is a spam job posting.

- baxley replies to SS| 1 replyI received an email that said I was accepted as a personal assistant of Adam Longus. Stated that I would be receiving a cashiers check that I would use to pay myself and buy toys for orphanages. The email stated he would give me a list of toys and the address of the orphanages to mail them to. When I replied to the email and advised him that I had done research on his scam. He never replied back.
