place called claiming they were calling from macy's.  saying that i was late on a payment  i checked online and found out that i was not late.  payment isn't due for another 15 days so i wonder if it's someone wanting my personal info?

My Mom also got a call today from the same number saying they were from Macy's. I thought it was a little odd that they asked for her credit card info over the phone. I hope this number is confirmed, this makes me nervous.

My mother received a call today saying that she was overdue on her account, but was not.  She went online to see what the situation was, but she was up to date and current.  I went ahead and called the number back and someone from Macy's picked-up, however, I decided to go to their website to see if the number was the same. When I reached someone at Customer Service they ended up referring me another number. The rep. was not concerned about the call.  He said that sometimes if a bill is received after on or after a due date that they end up making calls out to card holders.  What is odd, however is that my mother made her payment nearly 2 weeks ago and was caught up.  In any event, the rep was semi-helpful.  He said there was no way he could verify whether or not the number that reached us was accurate or not.  I would recommend not giving out personal information and simply reaching Macy's directly yourself to resolve any issues.

I got a call from this number as well...They would call and not leave a message up until the last few days.  But instead of saying who they were or what they were calling about, they would just sit there for about 15 seconds, not say anything, and then hang up.  I just called the phone number back because I wanted to know who it was, and the representative ("Hawkins") said he was from Macy's and wanted my card number.  I obviously didn't have it with me because I didn't know who was calling me, so he asked for my phone number.  He tried pulling up my account using my phone number but couldn't, then my name, and couldn't, and then he asked for my SSN.  I was NOT about to give that to him if he couldn't pull up the file using the phone number that THEY keep calling.  He told me to call back when I get my account information...umm...NO.  Not going to happen!!

I got a call from this number, too, and they wouldn't identify themselves.  After reading the other posts, I went online to view my Macy's account and it was up to date, too.

Yes got a call did not answer..  there was a message sort of..  from an automated system asking to please hold on..

This number has called a few times over the past few days.  I hear a "hold for a rep, they are currently dealing with other customers" or whatever.  Uhh, no.... I got this cell number about a month ago and this just started.  If it is indeed Macy's, the call can't be for me since I don't even have a Macy's account.  WTH?

I get about 5 calls a day from this and I ignore. Tried calling back once. The Voicemail was an automated message telling me to wait for available rep or press a number.
