J - 12 Mar 2007I've been getting calls from this number repeatedly. I called back today and a woman answered. She said I have a balance due with Macys. It cannot be true as I am not using this card, and it is clear for the past year at least. She asked for my personal info, and I refused to give any information over the phone. I asked her to send me a written request. You can't be too careful these days.

Dan - 16 May 2007I first received the message last Thursday. They left a message stating it's very important that I answer the phone call, but during the message it states to call them back at as soon as I get in? No name on caller ID, on info of who they are on their message. They keep calling but they do not leave any more messages. Sounds like a scam to me!

Lisa - 31 Jan 2008This was actually a legit call for me. I got the message, checked my macy's account and there was a zero balance, but then called Macy's just to be sure and found I owed money on another account. I called the number on my credit card to be safe, and found out what had happened. Apparently Macy's has a very strange VISA card system where they divide the bill into two accounts - (1) the account of Macy's only charges (2) the account of outside of Macy's charges. Once I called, they refunded the late charge fee for the bill I hadn't paid, but did not refund the finance charge. Thankfully, I hadn't charged much and caught this in time, but it could have cost me a lot of money with their high interest rates. I really like Macy's, but this credit card system is awful.

BC0309 - 14 Aug 2008It is a collection agency that Macy's uses. It seemed really shady to me when I called them back, but then I called Macy's corporate office to have them check on the number and they confirmed that they are a legit collections agency. They are rude, inarticulate, and difficult to understand, but fortunately they are not criminals. They just need you to pay something on your bill. Not sure why they don't leave messages. It would be helpful.

Then they called back 2 hours later and left a message on my machine: This is message is for ______ ______. This is Mr. D. Please call me back at 1-866-593-3926. It is regarding a personal business matter.
When I called back, this is what the recording said: Our office is currently closed. Please call back during our business hours, Monday through Thursday 9am to 9pm or Friday 9am to 5 pm. One of our agents will be happy to assist you then. (then it disconnects the call)

macy's customer - 22 Mar 2007I got a call from this number about an overdue Macy's account and they were right. I said the proverbial 'check is in the mail' (which it was) and they said fine and hung up. Didn't seem like a scam to me.

TATA - 14 Feb 2008i just got a call from this number. they didnt' left a message. When i read this forum, it seemed to me that this is a Macys phonce call. I'm not their customer, and i dont' even have an account with them. never had one!
