    Cincinnati call

Received multiple calls throughout the day and each time I picked up there was nothing but dead air.  Not sure what it is, but it is probably a collections call (I have received many collections calls from Fifth Third Bank for individuals who do not live here, have never lived here, and whom I do not know- each time I tell them this they promise to have the number removed yet never seem to do so).

They are a fraud protection company. Many banks are outsourcing their fraud protection. I recommend you call them back ASAP. They should leave a message when they call including the number to call and a case# write it down. When I called I had them confirm some information before I was willing to confirm my name and address but they are legit. Someone had my card number and manually entered it for a charge. Now I get to cancel it and get a new card and number, FUN.

it is a bank as stated by others.  i called them and the first thing they wanted was my SSN...when i told them NO WAY, they looked up the name.  it wasn't me and i was told i had to give them my SSN.  i again stated they could NOT HAVE MY SSN as i don't know them and never have done business with them.  my card has not been compromised, i checked. the name associated with the call was not my name.  they said they would stop the calls.  i'm not believing that for a minute.

They called me today too, 14th December. I was ready to hang up but when they told me that there was a transaction charged to my debit card over the internet for $0.19 that looked suspicious, I listened. They could also see that I had used my card to pump gas at a corner store about an hour before which was true. Apparently they are a security company of sorts. Will find out more tomorrow.

This is Fifth/Third Bank.  I applied for a loan recently, and I have a fraud alert on my credit report.  They called to confirm that I actually requested a loan, and it is not someone posing as me.  It is a legit call, and should be taken seriously.

It was 5/3 bank's fraud alert service.  I verified the number with my local 5/3 branch.   My 5/3 credit card number was compromised.   They placed a hold on the account.

We received a call regarding our debit card at a local Federal Credit Union.  The FCU outsources it's fraud alert program.  It was a legit call, someone when christmas shopping with my husband's card number for over $1300.  To make a long story short, they are legit and not a scam.

I have never done any business with 5/3 bank and this number KEEPS CALLING ME, on my cell phone at that, and I never give my cell phone number out to businesses. This is so annoying and frustrating, they call at least 2-3 times a day. I answered once, they asked for somebody by a random name (not my name) and I told them they had the wrong number. However, I continue to get harassed by these calls. How do I make it stop??

They are a charge processor company that monitors Visa cards for fraud.  This was on behalf of my Credit Union.

Note that the did NOT ask me for my SSN, but instead asked for me by name and asked if I had used my Visa that ended in XXXX for a specific purchase.  They did have knowledge of other (legitimate) charges as well.

I just received a phone call from this number and they left a message.  It was a recruiter.  I posted my resume about six months ago and they are looking to fill a position that I have experience in.  It is 5/3 bank.
