"Alicia" (In phone message) called me by first name (only) and said something about (?) being added to my PayPal account which we needed to "talk about".  Her voice and name was on the machine when I called back.  She sounds American.  I contacted PayPal, who saw no issues with my account.  This could be fraud, probably to try to get access.  I'll report more later as I have it.

PayPal has verified to me that this person is NOT part of PayPal, any call from PayPal would have "PayPal" in the caller ID (was "Unavailable") and would have a toll-free number showing.  BEWARE !!

I've been getting the same thing, but they are calling me at work, which that number is not listed on my pay pal account. It's "Alicia" again. I've called the number she left and the number on caller id, both go to voicemails.

I got a call from "Nathan" at PayPal - phone number 513-588-1863 that went to our answering service. Something about a change on our Check-out page (which we don't have any) and we should call him back. Sounds like Cinci is becoming the new Nigeria scam center.

I've received numerous voicemails from an American accented lady and also talked to her briefly this morning calling from 513-588-1864.  She wanted me to log into the site to show me something new with my account. She also said she had send a couple emails (none received or in spam).
I called Paypal myself and got passed around to a couple people, including security department.  They assured me that there is NO RECORD of anybody trying to contact me from Paypal, and if they really would have, it would have come from their 888-221-1161 number.
Paypal Security department told me to change my password immediately just in case as this definitely wasn't a call from them.

Just got a call from 513-588-1861.  Michelle from PayPal... but... although, she had an obvious American accent, I couldn't seem to understand most of the details she was saying when I'd ask her questions.  I'd ask her to clarify it and barely understand the too-quickly-spoken answer.  I thought she was saying she was from Tayco.. or something.  She wanted to speak to the PayPal account holder (by name), and I told her not available.. can I leave a message.  She asked when he would be available.  I said I'd just have to pass him a message, so she gave her name and number.  I said what is in regards to, she said something about a "raised issue"(?).. i said "there's a raised issue on the account?" she said something like "no, we just want to tell him about a new [something something]."  I'm like, ok, whatever.. "is it important he call you back?"  She said, "well, if he doesn't call us back we'll just call him again in a few days."  didn't sound crucial.. but now I am dubious about the whole thing.  lame.

Thank you everyone who has updated everyone about this phone number.  I thought that it was a little sketchy when it came across as Cincinnati OH instead of PayPal.  They have called 2 days in a row, yesterday I just happened to be at home when they called and the answering machine answered and as soon as I saw the caller ID and heard the lady say she was from PayPal I picked up the phone and then hung up on them.  Today they left a message which I deleted immediately, then I called the number back and got voicemail with Alicia as the name.  To say the least I left them my number and said "I know that this is a scam so stop friggin' calling me.

This scam artist sent me an email asking me to log into PayPal. The link was only yo get my user name and password. BEWARE!!

PayPal uses 513 and 402 area codes for it's call centers. 513 is Ohio and 402 is Nebraska. As those are the areas PayPal is headquartered.  I work for Paypal, and I am in Utah, but I have a 513 area code on my work phone. When an outbound call center calls you ,
you will not see PayPal on your caller ID. I have suggested that that be changed.
