The call is from the Alchol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau.  That number is what comes up when they call.

This is indeed a valid number for what is commonly referred to as the TTB. We are in the process of starting a micro-distillery and are dealing with them on a regular basis. Perhaps 800Notes should come up with another "Call Type" in their drop-down menu.

The posts in question are over three years old and may have been connected to something outside of what you are speaking of. Besides there is also the possibility that caller id spoofing was used in case of the previous comments.

We have been involved in our startup for nearly three years now, and this has always been one of the key TTB numbers. Thus far all of the spoofed numbers we have encountered have been inactive ones, definitely never a spoofed Federal Government one, massively unlikely that a spoofer would provide the correct Caller ID description as clearly shown in the 2010 report above. My bet is dialing errors.
