I receive calls daily from this and other numbers of similar nature. Some are for my adult children. I have blocked this number and this has not helped due to it is all spoof calls. These criminals are awful and are hard to catch up with since they can make their ID anything they want. We all or most have Macy’s cards zero balance. I am thinking all the messages seem to point to Macys, how do we all pay our bill?? Our families case online through the checkfree service provided by Macys, in which case they have our phone numbers provided by Macys or us when we set up to pay online. Is this the case with most of you? "If so” this may be an avenue I would like to pursue! And for those of you that do not have a Macys account do you use checkfree for any other payments? I am so exhausted with these calls now its time to figure out what the common denominator is for us all. Since the do not call list cannot help due to a spoofing circumstance and goggling only spins us in circles with no solution. If anyone can help, I am interested in finding the underlying cause of this nuisance.
The # 513 754 9822 is Macy's headquarter# in Mason, Ohio. It will show on your caller Id so that you will know it is not a call from a telemarketeer. If a message is left on your answering machine like "This message is for Mr/Mz*name* This is Mr/Mz*name* calling about an important business matter. Please call today at 1-800...Thank you" Who ever the message was left for should call the 800# asp, it is due to a situation regarding your Macy's account. It may be that a payment was not received, many times the payment was made but posted to the wrong account by accident. Sometimes there is return mail and not receiving a statement the person may not know or remember a balance is owed on. If you answer the call and the caller is asking for another member of your family about an important business matter just ask what company the caller is with, legally they can not tell you any details but can id the name of the company and please don't assume all of the accounts are current and fine just call or have that person who the message is for call and find out, better to know then to not know and find out later when things are more complicated. If it's a matter of just a missed payment it's going to be a courtesy call just to let you know.
I have a macy account. I get calls from this number with no message left and no one on the line if I answer it. If this is an attempt to collect payment, someone should go back to class! MY accounts are paid on line and are not behind/late. When I call the number there is never an answer. The caller ID does say Mason OH.
Do you understand that it's "beaking the law" by calling several times in a one day period? "This is called harrassment"....let alone calls made to a private household before 9am I have reported this to the FCC... Bottom line....Dont use the Macys card...buy yourself a good pair of scissors instead :)
It's not Macy's corporate headquarters, they are a separate company claiming to be representatives of Macy's and Bloomingdales. You're apparently colluding also.
This IS A SCAM! I have no Macy's card and they called my number, which is unlisted, and did not leave a message. Thankfully I am on the no call list and have already reported them to the State Attorney General's office. If you receive a call from this number, do not answer, report it immediately to your State Attorney General's office for prosecution for fraud.
If Macy's wanted to contact you about a problem with your Charge Card, rest assure they would send you a letter, not call you. So all these Phone Calls are rip-offs. Do you think that if all the people that are getting irritate with these calls would suspend service for a month or so. All the carrier will take action to stop it. Use your cell phone for a month, if you have the call time.
You call my phone number which is on the "do not call" list 10 times a day. No message is ever left, the idiot that calls just hands up. Not too professional Macy's.
I too receive phone calls from this number.I have caller ID and never pick it up. When I googled this number I came to this site recognizing this number to be from Macy's.. I DO NOT HAVE A MACY'S ACCOUNT.. Go figure..!
This is a total scam, we have no debt and no card and they call my finace' 3-6 times a day! Ridiculous! Its always an Indian accent too, which makes you think its outside the US and they are tapping through the phone system. We reported it to the FTC and the Do Not Call Federal Agencies recently. Lets hope some action can be taken on these dirtbags within the next few weeks.
Yes, I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one suffering from this endless calling!! Has anybody had any luck pursuing this? I also have a Macy's card.
I dont know about that. I just checked and my check cleared and now Im getting calls saying I owe an amount. Call the number on the back of your own card. I dont think this is MACYS's - its really bad business. if it is I'll never shop there again . ever. F*** 'em
I have now received over 50 calls from this company on my cell. I at least have them on no ring! Today I called Macy's customer service and let them know I am tearing up my card and won't be returning to their store. They had credited the wrong account with my payment and admitted they do turn late payments over to a call center!!!
Yes, i also recieve daily calls, actually they call up to 5 times a day. when I checked the number it appears that it is from macy's but when I check my balance and due dates, everythig is current and on time. So they should not be calling to collect as I have never made a late payment.
Hi, I understand your frustration. I have been getting calls like that including this number and other numbers.
I decided to join the Do Not Call Registry at www.ftc.gov, here you can sign up and they do not ask for your credit card num, like in other sites. They have other interesting subjects you might want to take advantage of, that protect the citizens. Stay with it and if they keep calling, you can go to this website and make a complaint. I am keeping a log of date, time and number. The more complaints they get, will get them interested enough to begin to investigate. I have a block on my phone, and i have blocked all of them.
I don't know why macys calls when I pay my bill online. I pay three months in advance. Maybe they are not posting the payments then generate the calls. I am going to go back and check my checking account for payments made. My balance is wrong also. Everyone better check. I don't trust the online payment any more. I will go in to a store and pay from now on.
I'm starting to think that MACY's maybe behind this, i applied and received a MACY's card around May 2009, shortly there after I started receiving unknown calls from 513-754-9822 and 800-395-2274.
I have received 4 calls in the past week from this number. I did receive one message...and it said "Hello..(Quiet for a bit)...Hello.....There is an issue with your service...please hold while we transfer you to a Customer Service Representative." What's weird...this happend while I was listening to my messages. I hung up. The reason I stayed on line for a bit, was because I thought it was SPRINT telling me there was an issue with my service. They make you believe you can not listen to anymore of your messages until you talk to the representative. (I have not received my cell phone bill from Sprint yet...so..we'll see if there's charges).
ATTENTION: Macy's credit cards are designed to get you to pay late charges!!!!!!!!
Apparently, when you have ONE Macy's credit card, you actually have two accounts (which they don't tell you about!). One for when you make purchases at Macy's and another for when you use the card at any location BESIDES Macy's. Hmmmm, where do most people use Macy's cards?????? If you set up a Bill Pay with your bank and use the number on your credit card as your account number, then when you make a payment, it goes to your VISA account, not your MACY'S account.
Then, if you used your Macy's card at MACY'S, your payment goes to the wrong account and you end up with multiple phone calls per day and late charges.
WHAT A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm glad I found this website, it prompted me to check my account which is when I discovered what they had done to me. Of course, when I called, they "apologized for the misunderstanding" and credited my account back the late fee. Bunch of scamming bastards!
This exact same thing happened to me! They kept applying my payments to the Macys account where I was accumulating a huge credit while they were showing the Visa account severely late. This significantly impacted my credit and it took me forever to find the right person at Macys to sort it out. To top it off, they couldn't transfer the funds from one account to another - they had to send me a check for the credit and I had to send them a check for the late account. It's maddening!
The same thing happened to me! Also, last year Macy's made a mistake on my account and charged me a late fee, which they later deleted. Then, a few months ago they reduced my limit to under my balance! When I went online and saw what they had done, I thought it was a glitch. I then called and they told me that my limit had been reduced due to late payments... ?? Which were two: the first being a complete mistake on their part & the second because I was over my limit, because they had reduced my limit! I couldn't believe it!
Needless to say, I am almost finished paying off my balance and won't step foot in Macy's again.
I have also been receiving calls from this number, but when I answer no one is on the line.
That happened to me too!!! I was so mad bc I kept paying them and they were saying I wasn't paying them. Then I ended up with late fees and a higher interest rate. Took some time before I realized what they were doing!!! That their ONE card was like TWO cards! I never would have signed up for that if I knew. It is such a scam. Who wants to pay the same card twice a month??? It shouldn't be legal! Macy's wouldn't help me bc they told me that the sales person is required to tell the consumer how the card works! No one told me and no one helped me later. I learned I had to carefully check the account number of every bill and pay with checks to I know it was going to the right place. Pain in the a**. I stopped using that card and I reported them to the Better Business Bureau and the FCC. I can't believe a company can get away with that!
And now these endless calls for no reason! I hate Macy's!!!
I received a call from this number this morning. When I answered it, I heard, "This is an important call, please hold on the line, our representatives are currently busy..." I hung up.
But then, I did some research on the number and found this web page. I have had a Macy's account for one month, and seeing all the comments here, I called the number on the back of my card to make sure that my account is up to date. Turns out, it's not. I didn't receive the last bill by mail and my last payment didn't go through, so they said that my account was delinquent.
I also found out that I have two accounts in one - one is revolving and the other is for major purchases. My first bill only showed the revolving. The representative said that the second bill (which I didn't receive) also shows the major purchases account, and that they are one account. However, when I paid the bill, I received 2 different confirmation numbers - how is it one account then? This is so confusing!
The rep removed the late fee and is resending my bill. The rep was accommodating and tried to be helpful, but there were some communication barriers in that I had to keep repeating my account number because he said my voice was breaking up.
If you receive a call from this number and you feel uncertain about the legitimacy of the caller but think there may be some issues with your credit card - you could hang up and call your Macy's card phone number to check. Doing it that way gave me some peace of mind as I was repeating my account number, and confirming my info. Never give out your full social security number!
These idiots called my WORK and asked for me by name. They told the receptionist it was "a personal business matter and not a sales call. They used the same wording as some other scam callers so didn't even talk to them. Be careful everyone.
It is nothing to do with payment or not. My accounts are paid up to date. Auto pay. I am still getting the calls. Macy needs to fix their auto call system. !
I've been getting this phone calls everyday.Never leave a message, my sister answered the phone one day and asked who's calling. She was looking for me. When asked what this is all about, the caller said it a personal business matter and gave my sister a 1-800 #. When ask who's calling, the person just called herself as Mrs. Smith. According to my sister, she sounded like an old lady.
I got fed up with it all, especially with the calls that get through despite do not call listing. I made a 99.00 investment and bought from Hello Direct a Person to Person Phone management system. It is an electronic device that goes between your incoming phone line and the home base phone, if one has a multiple cordless handset system or if only one land line phone set. It allows me to add 100 phone numbers to its internal database storage area and blocks any phone number you enter. Not bad over a few years time, it paid itself off. No more idiots or autodialer calls getting through.
YEP!!!! I found this after looking up the number on the internet. I agree, Macy's is a scam. You have one card and even if you sign up on my check free (which they say is their preferred payment method) it only pays one side, the Macy account side. How stupid is this? I told her that when I'm all paid up I will be getting rid of it because this is ridiculous to have 2 different accounts with the same card. I have enough to worry about. I made them credit the late fees and finance charges.
Another thing, when I called up, the auto phone person wanted me to recite my ENTIRE social security number. I just kept saying NO, I want to talk to an agent.
Us too, husband receives calls daily. It's an oversea's call center with 'americanized names" reported to be hsc or hcl technolgies doing services for macy's. ask that you be removed (24hrs) or you will report to attonery generals and the fcc for call harassment.
This is Macys Collection Dept. - Legit replies to wujek walkarz
24 Sep 2009
I just called Macy's customer service department to see if this is a legit call - and it is. It is their collection department and they do not leave a message due to Third Party confidentiality issues. So if you do get a call from them, there is more than likely a problem with your account. The man I spoke with said Mason, OH is where "collections" is located.
I got a Macy's card just to get the 10% discount on a large purchase. Since then, they have told me I have 2-3 different accounts and sometimes I didn't know what I was paying for. I started getting collections calls from Macy's because of another "secret" account. They apparently fixed it and also about 6 months later sent me a refund check for $600. Then I started getting the calls again, with an automated message. All of the sudden, I get a random bill from Macy's with $200 due. Then the automated messages stopped and this 513 # started calling, no messages left. All I wanted to do was get the 10% discount and cancel the card. I will call ASAP to cancel this now. It's the most difficult credit card I've ever dealt with and I do not trust them.
I've realised I'm getting calls at different times from 513-754-9822. SOMETIMES BACK TO BACK! Besides not answering the phone, what is the number for reporting harrasing phone calls to the phone company? I think it's *52. But I want to be sure before I try it. That's for the help!
Macy's Abusive Business Practices replies to wujek walkarz
28 Dec 2009
I do not have a Macy's account, and repeatedly today (Sunday) was called from 1 513 754 9822.
I was told they were calling for a Karen Mcnalty, after I explained that it was the wrong number, they hung up and called back.
I explained politely again, wrong number, please do not call again, and a woman with an Indian accent called me a liar and told me she would be calling again and again.
I then called the above number, 1 513 754 9822, and spoke with a man with a very heavy accent and explained that I was not the above person, have no Macy's account, have never had a Macy's account, and please do not call me again, and that I would be reporting the repeated phone calls as well as Macy's abusive practices to my state's attorney general.
I was told I had no proof, and I then explained that on Vonage, all the calls were logged with time and date.
