this number called 2/19/08 and a few days before, they have not left a message. If it is Macy's, and i do have a card, they should leave a polite message, i am all for a reminder if i am late, or letting them know that the payment has been taken care of.
I'm replying to let you know if a message is not left it's because the caller is on a dialer system where the computer is making the call for them and unfortunately sometimes the computer doesn't bring up the account soon enough to detect if an answering machine has picked up the call so a message will not be left. If a message is left legally it can only be This is mr/mz*name* calling for mr/mz*name* about an important business matter. Please call today at 1-800...thank you. Using the name of the company in that phone message is not allowed; I know and agree, if it could be left it would make things more clear..ps only checks by phone are asked for, or go online or in store or by mail. Please do call back the # on the statement or c card and find out what it's about; wouldn't hurt-could help.
I have been called 5 days in a row, except Sunday. They are saying they are from Macy's. Luckily my son looked it up online and found others saying not to call them back, it is a scam. Since it was for him and he wasn't here, they kept calling back. They always call about the same time, so when the phone rang, I saw it was the same number and didn't answer. I hope others will not get hooked into this scam. I hope I can block their call.
This number is apparently legit, I just spent an hour crying because I read this and thought I got scammed...but indeed it was because I did NOT schedule my Bloomingdales payment and it was 3 days late...it was a legit call center(although outsourced to India). I'm soooo relieved.
I believe this number 513-754-9822 MAY (I say "may) be legit but the tactics they use are of a harassing nature. The calls come in more than three times a day. My husband picked up once and was told they wanted my credit card number to pay the Macy's account over the phone. Recently, I was several days late on a Macy's bill so Macy's added a $39 late fee to my next bill. I called the Macy's toll free number. They told me I will still get calls until my balance is paid (because of the late payment??)( So NOW I'm a piece of crap because I was late???) even though the new bill doesn't indicate a past due balance (they just added the $39 to my payment due along with finance charges - now a $70 payment turned into close to $150 due) The rep at Macy's tried to get me to make a payment over the phone even though I told her I'm on a fixed income and will definitely pay my next bill by the due date. The rep also told me to expect more calls. A bunch of bull....! Not happy with Macy's and will be glad when it's paid off.
I got a call today from this number twice and when I picked up there was no one there.........so I called the number myself and I still got no one. I too think that this is a scam!
The person asked for my mom (who is elderly), but couldn't pronounce her name properly. When I asked what company they were from, they couldn't tell me . They answered the phone very rude and I knew something was wrong. Do not give them ANY information, its a scam, I'm sure.
i keep getting calls from this number, they never leave a message. Looks very strange and out of place. By the way, if it's from Macys, i've never had any account with them, so i doubt if this is for real...f*** scammers
Called and left no message. Area code 513 was unfamiliar to me so I did not answer. Cleveland, Ohio? Looked up the number and it lead me to this Directory.
WTF?....THEY CALL AND CALL FROM THIS SAME 513-754-9822 #. I HAVE RECEIVED 36 PHONE CALLS FROM THIS SAME # BETWEEN 3/16/09 TO 3-26-09..THEY NEVER EVER LEAVE A MESSAGE AND SOMETIMES IT RINGS ONCE OR TWICE AND NOTHING. WELL GUESS IT MIGHT NOT BE THAT IMPORTANT! : )
I always make payments ontime so I called Macy's to find out why I got this call. The operator says it's not a scam. My issue was I used the Macy's card as "Visa" card outside Macy's store, and my payment somehow only went to Macy's card, not Visa (apparently, I needed to add Visa card when I paid online.). She's saying that is way I received the call. She transferred my payment to Visa card and cleared any late payment fee. If you get this call, you should probably give the credit company a call just in case.
Please be careful even if you "pay your balance in full" on your Macy's card. I always pay my balance in full but failed to realize that there are 2 different account numbers (one for purchases made at Macys and one for purchases elsewhere). I made payments on the statement that I received not realizing that there was another account building up a balance. If you are getting calls from this number, either call the number on the back of your card or check at your local store to check for any account balances you may have. The rep I spoke to was able to transfer the overpayment on one account to the other account and take off the late charges and interest.
This number called my cell phone 3 times and did not leave any messages. I did a revese number search and it came back stating that the number is a resident landline in Ohio.
I called them back and they said that they're credit sevices for Macy's and Bloomingdales. They asked for my phone number and I told them that I wil call Macy's number that is listed on my statement. They asked again for my phone number and that she would help me right now. I said I was not comfortable with that. I'm not sure if this is a legitimate.
