Jay - 6 Jun 2008This number has called twice claiming there are five magazines ordered three years ago and they want to reduce the rate by ten dollars a month to $39.95 for thirty months. They claim there is a verbal agreement by phone yet cannot provide a copy of it. They say the last payment was made in 2006 and they are wondering why the payments have stopped. When asked what magazines they are talking about, they named five of which none has been recieved here. When I asked which state they were calling from, they replied with New York. I looked it up and found it to be Quebec Canada. They are asking for financial information over the phone. One woman gave a name of Tanya with a supervisors name of Ben. I would like them to stop calling and asking for financial information for magazines we are not recieving.

Paula - 27 Jun 2008Our calls were from 514-671-0346. We are getting the same scenario but the pitch is slightly different. The first call is from some guy who claims my husband hasn't ordered magazines since 2006 but was a valued customer and wants to speak with him about ordering more magazines. When I tell the guy on the phone my husband is ill and doesn't want to speak with him about magazines and would not want them since he can't read them the guy says he has a copy of my husband's credit card and infers that he can just charge whatever he wants to the card. I end the call with insisting we don't want magazines and let him know cards can be canceled and make those arrangements just in case. The next week a woman calls and says my husband owes thousands of dollars for magazines we ordered. My response is to let them know some guy called the week before and said we hadn't ordered since 2006 and she continues abusive and insistent banter about the so-called order and how she must speak with my husband. I tell her to send the bill to the state District Attorney's office where a friend of mine works and they will deal with them appropriately. They quit calling for one week and they are trying to call again. Seems like they are very aggressive and like they have had some kind of mercenary style telemarketing training. We are considering changing all of our phone service. It is getting to be too much.
