Caller with distinct accent claims he is "Peter" calling about a problem with my computer.  I respond that there is no problem with my computer and suggest that he refrain from calling and bothering people with these scams.  He tries to intervene with childish comments as he is promptly disconnected.

I just received a call from this number. Someone from a different country said his name was Charlie and my computer was saying it was having issues and he wasn't calling on behalf of Windows (unfortunately for him I know it's a scam) I called him out on it being a scam and told him I was o. Do not call list and would report him to FCC. He immediately hung up.

This is a twist.  Normally for these guys the caller ID says a state name of occasionally International Caller, although they have a US number, but this one said Quebec.  Same people who try to have you download software so they can "fix" at which time they take control of your computer and hold it hostage until you pay them to "fix" your computer.  Illegal?  Yes.  Does the government, your phone company or Microsoft care about it?  No.  Just keep blocking their numbers, but they will not give up.  It is what they get paid to do.

First off just let me say "thank you" to those who posted their experiences with these scum bags. The CID on my phone said "POTS Phone PQ."  I am in Vermont and don't usually get calls from Quebec. I didn't answer since 90% of unknown calls are scams. At least 60% or more are from Windows scammers. Be safe every one.

They are a SCAM!!!!! Like the guy said the CID says "POTS Phone PQ." Ignore there telephone call, unless you want to waste your time.

Just got the same call as above.  They said they wanted information about my computer.  POTS Phone PQ.

Got a call with the same ID but a different number.
Didn't answer - no message.
The number I got was 514-723-8363 Add that to your call blocker.

I'll agree this is a prank.
