I got a call from this number a few minutes ago. It was a followup to a complaint I had made with a Telus rep a few days back. Maybe it's their outbound number?
(The complaint was regarding unsuccessfully trying to block spam text messages I've been getting for the past week or so)
I asked him what people in his department do outbound calling for, and he said it's always for either confirmation that you're satisfied with your service, and some reps are specifically designated for collections, a "friendly reminder" in the event your account has always been good, but now it's uncharacteristically past-due. I didn't give him any personal information, and he didn't ask, but because of the problem I'd been having he said he got me free unlimited inbound text messaging, that way if he couldn't find a way to stop the spam, at least I wouldn't have to ever pay for them :D I'll post here again later (if I remember) when I get my statement, and see if I really do have what he promised.
