"unknown" number

I've been receiving at least one call per day from this number for more than a month now. When I answer, no one speaks, it just hangs up. I tried to call the number, but I get a message to hang and try to call again. This is really annoying

Yup, seems to be some commercial offer bullcrap, i called and a message said "You have been contacted following a special offer available to some canadian clients, we are sorry if it caused any inconvenience, Thank you"

I agree with the previous entries. This is not the first time I am contacted about such a credit card.

At least in the past, the phone number lead to a website, where you could learn a thing or two, and also "opt-out" so to speak.

This time, what is left... finding a 4-leaf clover?

Hopefully, one day, such near-illegal activities will cease once and for all

They're driving me crazy... They've been calling once or twice a day for more than 2 months now. I've called my local phone company (Telus) and they weren't able to do anything for me, except from offering me a package to block some phone numbers. So now I have to pay to block this sh*t...

If anyone finds who that company is please post it here so that I can speak with someone there.

They were calling everyday for about 2 weeks. They even called past 9:30 pm. I finally answered to find out that this is a MBNA MasterCard ''promotional offer''. They said that if I was approved, I would get my new Gold MC in about 4 weeks. I said I didn't want another CC.

How they got my number is beyond me.  They shouldn't even have it!  You can't even stop them with 'call blocking'.  Why does Bell Canada allow this? If Call blocking doesn't stop them, then what's the use of paying for a service which doesn't work?

Ils m'appellent aussi tous les jours... Ce numéro est le pire que j'ai connu. Ils dérangent tout le monde pour rien et à des heures différentes.

Ils ne laissent pas de messages quand ils appelent. Je ne sais pas quel est la compagnie....

Quand je téléphone à ce numéro un message nous réponds quelque chose comme ceci : C'est une offre faite pour certains clients Canadiens. Nous nous excusons de tout inconvénient que cet appel aurait pu causer.

J'ai essayé d'être gentil, direct, rude, méchant, désagréable, j'ai même laissé le téléphone ouvert pour que le représentant parle tout seul... mais MBNA ne lâche pas prise... un vrai parasite...

I come home and see this number calling me all the time. Finally answered on a saturday and stayed silent for a while and no one said anything and then when I hit a key on the phone they hung up. How annoying. Anyone know how to get off their calling list?
