Jana6 Aug 2007- ek8 Aug 2007got a call at 8am on my cell, 2 rings an a hang up (they probably heard my ring back tone and it confused the computer since there is no "ring").
Called back, get Wells Fargo Financial... I guess enough people complained that they finally put some automated answering service on the line.

- DL28 Aug 2007I applied for an unsecured consolidation loan from Wells Fargo for $10k... They declined my application even tho I have excellent credit. Few days later I got a call from this number, saying that they were a subsidiary of Wells Fargo, and since I got declined by Wells Fargo, I had the option to get a loan up to $5k from them, and they needed to re-verify my information. After that, I haven't got the call back from them. So... the plot thickens huh?
- I had also applied for a loan just a few days before I got the calls, but when I applied for the loan I had to sign something that said that Wells Fargo could transfer the application to Wells Fargo Financial if the bank itself could not approve the loan. I really don't think this is a scam, I think this really is a part of their process.

- I used to work for wells fargo. They have many different divisions located in Des Moines Iowa. I myself worked for the collections dept. By law they can only contact you between the hours of 8-9. Many of these places are on an auto dialer. Meaning a computer calls numbers that were provided by you when doing business with wells fargo. Then it patches you through to an agent to discuss whatever business it is they have with you. I do know that if you are behind on any payments they can legally call you EVERY day until the account is current, and they will. Other than that, if you contact wells fargo about this directly through a wells fargo financial number listed on their website or your local branch they should be able to tell you why they have been trying to reach you.
- Ive been called by this number many times and I got contacted by a wells fargo financial person. I told her to cancel my request on a loan. I was hoping that would have made the calls stop...but no they didnt. They call me on my cell and at work now. I answered the phone, literally 5 minutes ago and no one said anything. I waited three minutes just in case it was a computer calling and waiting for someone to answer. Still no one on the other end. Tell me this, if these wells fargo people/computers are calling, how the heck do you make them stop? It gets quite annoying when they call at 9AM Saturday morning....trust me staying calm when they start calling you at work is not something that is easily handled.

- None5 Sep 2007Yeah, Wells Fargo Connection here as well. I applied for a loan with them and got a call. someone said "hello" and I asked who do you want to talk to and he hung up. Guess was just checking the validity of the phone number. If it were a legit call, they alway identify themselves instead of just saying "hello" and then hang up and never call back. something fishy here...
- AT - Sept. 6, 20078 Sep 2007I also have applied for a loan with Wells Fargo recently and mark the "if denied may we send your info to subsidiary company". I was at work and did not know the number, so I let it go to voice mail. Of course there was no voice mail left and I googled the number only to find that it is a possible scam.

- CEO Wells Fargo8 Oct 2007applied for wells unsecured loan and rejected online but the note said a sub of wells would be contacting me. no one answers the # when they call and they don't leave messages. maybe they just have a bumbling division that has a bad pbx system for contacting clients. they don't get funds to upgrade their phone system because they don't sell enough product. a catch 22.
