I received a charge on my Visa for about $13. I did not recognize the company name associated with it (ALM, LLC, NY), so I called the phone number listed, 516-224-7596. It went strait to a voicemail that said (paraphrased): "You have reached the voicemail system, please leave a message... {beep}."

Very suspicious.

Same here, charge of 18.00. Mastercard said they are some type of electronics store but I can never get them on the phone. I think I will turn it over to the State Attorney's Office and see what happens

I just received my Visa bill today with a mysterious charge of $10.15 on 03/06. It lists "ALM LLC 516-2247596 NY" as the description. Like you, I am unfamiliar with this company and have not conducted any business with this company. I had a mysterious charge of $0.15 last month from Bartecla also in NY. I called Visa to refute the charge. I am on hold right now to talk to Visa again. My wife and I meticulously track all our charges and receipts, and this charge is not among them.

My guess is that this is some kind of scam. A person is charging credit cards and the amounts are so small that many people would not notice, especially people who do not track their receipts and just pay their bill when it arrives.

I just canceled my Visa.

I was robbed 14.73 myself as well. ALM LLC 516-2247596 NY 03/18ALM LLC 5 showed up in my account under debit transaction.  I called the bank to refute the charge, and had them destroy my existing debit card.  What a nightmare.  I have to go in now, to 20 online accounts I use to pay my bills with a new number and card which I should be getting next week from the bank.

Calling the number is a joke.  I'm wondering if its a service voice mail box created by an untraceable fake account and ID for the phone number.   I can't believe this is untraceable.  I would really like to see this idiot brought to justice.

Its not alot of money, but just knowing someone could do this kept me up last night to doubt all my online transcations now.

I checked my VISA debit card account just now and found a $22.22 charge from ALM LLC 516-2247596 NYUS. I too shall have to get my bank to deny the charges and stop my existing debit card. I'm on disability and live month to month so I can't afford to lose any money. Luckily it's VISA debit and they should cover it.  I do a lot of my shopping on the Internet so there's no telling where they got my card number. This is a real pain.

I, too, have been scammed by both Bartecla and now ALM, LLC!!  I was hoping I could avoid having to cancel my credit card but alas I believe it is inevitable!  There's got to be a way to keep this from happening but I'm not getting any ideas. :-(

I am just now reconciling our company's monthly VISA statement.  We have a mysterious charge from ALM LLC 516-224-7596 NY for $19.44 on one of our cards.  The credit card company says this business (??) is listed as an electronics company. I have just disputed the charge and cancelled the card.
Boy, it's really vicious out there, isn't it?

Just got a Master Card statement with a 16.00 charge from ALM LLC. FRAUD!
I have cancelled my card. I hope they catch these crooks & hang 'em high.

I also had a disputed 0.18 charge a few months back from Bartecla on a Visa.  I disputed and it was removed.  I submitted a complaint to the NY BBC.  Now this month there is a 17.72 charge from ALM LLC.  I will be disputing again...

B of A just reversed my debit card transaction for $10,20.  No idea how they got my acct #.
Sure would like to pursue them further

I can't believe this!  I did the exact same thing, called the number and got that message too and no reply as yet.  I will be disputing this and forwarding this info to my credit card company immediately.

Look's like I've got lots of company...I just opened my visa bill to find a  $10.07 charge on 3/5/10 from ALM LLC 516 224-7596 NY.....mystery solved and hopefully visa can get to the bottom of this...whatever happened to making money the good ol' fashioned way???

Just noticed a charge of $10.20 by ALM LLC 516-7596 on my credit card (visa). March 30th.
I have no idea who this is. Now I will have to dispute it with my credit card company, maybe cancelling my card. I only use it to pay bills, etc. on-line. It never leaves my desk.
Can't anyone be trusted anymore?

Gee, I'm joining the group. Charge for 10,33 on credit card - from ALM, LLC. Never heard of them, and I keep every sales slip. I had a charge from Bartecla a couple of months ago and hoped I was free and clear. Gotta cancel the card for sure.

MIne was for 11.89 to ALM. Quite the scam. same bill has a charge to JHD productions. Also a false charge. What a pain in the neck.

Trying to get this taken off my account right now with the bank. This is such a pain. Most people I've read about are from NY, but I'm in FL. No clue how these people got my card number and charged .51 on 4/5. Anyone out there with an idea? This totally sucks as it has taken up most of my morning, but I don't want my card being used by strangers. Now, I have to wait for a new card and this is a business account, so it slows up what I do and any charges I have tied to it. I hate people like this.  Hope they catch them and prosecute them.
