- iknowmyrightsDebt collectors do purchase old debt for pennies on the dollar. DO NOT take the call! Every state has statue of limitations on debt, know yours. If you take the call you (in most states) start the clock all over again. If they leave a message write down the number and look it up on your computer "Google it"
NEVER CALL THEM BACK EVER!!!!
Remedy:
Be smart - Contact each of the three credit score agencies by letter and challenge any debt put on your account. 99% of the time debt collectors are unable to validate debts they purchase. By law debt collectors have 30 days to validate any debt. If they can't validate the debt you have the right to have debt collectors removed from your credit score immediately after the 30 days are up.
Tip: Are you aware that you DO NOT have to sign a personally guaranty of payment above what your healthcare provider will pay on claims? Sure medical facilities hand you that document (if your stupid) but on a voluntary basis. NEVER SIGN IT. Emergency room visits, surgery, blood tests etc. Anything that requires you to submit your healthcare insurance coverage, NEVER SIGN IT. You don't have to sign it and they know it! By not signing it these entire medical facilities can only collect what ever your health insurance will cover, that's it.. Not a penny more. Look over every document they hand you. Look for the words “personal guaranty of payment”. Often times you will find these sneaky little paragraphs mixed in something like a patients bill of rights form. You can also strike the paragraph and initial it should it be mixed in with a simple registration form. What I do is write the words “I Do Not Personally Guaranty Payment” over or above that paragraph, then sign my name with the days date. 1 out of 4 bankruptcies in the USA are caused my medical debt… because people sign the personally guaranty of payment. NEVER SIGN IT.- Caller: MCS Claim Service

- ViviThey called me last week because they said that I have a balance of 800 dollars. The person who called affirm that I was in the emergency room, something that I don't remember, but that's okay... When I asked for the day that I was there, the answer was "I don't know, I just have the bill." I told her that I need a copy of that bill and she said that I'll get it... Today I called my insurance company and you know what? The hospital never claim anything to them...

- Maryann RutiglianoThese people called me this evening. I was very pissed off at the caller because at the time of my two minutes (if that) in the ER on the "date of service" I had NOT one but TWO health insurances. There is absolutely no reason for them to be calling me. And to top it off my dad passed away in that stupid hospital and after I passed out they rolled me to the ER and now I have a bill??? What????!!!!

- N.A.Called landline. CID MCS CLAIM SERV. Left no message. Just another hang up call with no message which we receive every day on landline and cell. We have no debt and owe no hospital or medical anything, so no reason for this call. A collection agency or a SCAM? This is the first time 800 notes was not clear that it was a scam from the weird posts above. We NEVER answer ANY unsolicited call. ALL numbers calling that we check on this site are CRIMINALS calling trying to perpetrate a scam. Because we have an answering machine these CRIMINALS know it is an active number, so the calls will not stop. These CRIMINALS want to profit from their call and cause financial harm to the person who answers the phone. Don't recognize the number, don't answer and don't try to call it back. If it is important they will leave a message!!
