Received a call on Friday, December 6, at about 5:45 pm EST and it showed the name of Donna S******* and this phone number.  I answered, and a male voice with heavy mid-eastern accent said "Hallo?"  I hung up and looked the number up on the computer.  It indicated this was a landline from Bethpage, Long Island, and when I investigated the name, I found an obituary for that person who had died on October 4, 2013.  My instinct tells me that this is a scam phone call, using name and phone information from someone recently deceased, which disgusts me to no end.  I did not try calling the number because I do not want to verify that my phone number is an operating number in any way.  I just do not understand how this type of nonsense keeps going on.  I am reporting this to the FTC, and I am noting it here in case anyone else gets a call with this number displayed.  I am omitting the last name to preserve the privacy of the deceased and her family as much as I can.

Just recvd a call from this number, picked it up and they hung up on me!

Just called my cell, no message.  I'm so tired of this crap!

Calledagain tonight ... still uing the nme and number of a recently deceed woman.  That annoys me tremendously.  I forwarded it to the FTC complaint line.  Let's see if that stops it.  I am so sick of this garbage.

Just got call from 516-366-9124- Asked for my father-in-law by last name- I asked if I could help them. They hung up without reply. Scamming?

Received a call from 5163669124.  I answered, and they hung up.  I hope someone catches these a**holes!

First, thanks all who posted here and 800-notes. Not one comment on 'WhoCallsMe' and I was beginning to think someone is really trying to reach me, legitimately. But no...  I just checked my cell after several days off and saw 1/2 dozen calls from this number over several days. No ID other than this Long Island-ish phone number. In addition, I got several other calls from other 516-area numbers  reportedly in nearby locations, so I agree, must be a boilerplate scam of some kind in L.I.  I'm on Do Not Call, as I suppose most here are - like it matters. I'd report this to local DAs and Consumer Complaints/Better Business & Police... especially Nassau County, New York, and whatever state consumer/law agency applies if you're somewhere else and they cross state lines to scam you.

Seems they're reaching out to a whole lot of people scamming *something*!

I received call from same munber 3 PM Pacific on 12 18 13

I just received a call from this number. Comes in as out of area. When I answered they hung up. At least I know now, I didn't miss a call from a friend. Thanks for the post.

Received another call from same number December 19 2013 at 6:30 Pacific time.
Despite the fact that I received calls from this number regularly and do not answer, the calls persist.

Sometimes when I get "sales calls" I tell them I am not the person they need to talk to and put the phone down to call the wanted person. Then I let them wait and wait until they hang up. I am hoping that will discourage them from calling again. However when I once answered this number, no one spoke at all.

Has called several times asking about the types of medication I use. Claims they are from American Health. I've hung up and asked them to quit calling and have even been belligerent with them. Still no luck.
