The caller says that he calls from Microsoft, with a strong Indian accent.  He calls in Montréal, Québec, Canada.....The second largest French city in the world after Paris...and they don't have anyone speaking French...!!! I really doubt that the call comes for MICROSOFT....! Cause the do have offices in Montréal, and they have TONS of French, and BILINGUAL speaking employees....!!!

They just called me  but even though I picked up the phone I didn't say a word.I was watching I Love Lucy on TV and I put the telephone against the screen.
A man said 'hello" and they hang up!

It is a scam! The caller stating she works for "Windows" reporting that your computer has a virus that they can repair. You just need to hand over remote control of your computer to them. I have had a number of these phony phishing calls...

got a call from these people a 7:30 in the morning! wtf? no one answered

So tired of this company calling seven times per day, every couple of hours, since I don't know who it is they have now placed a name John Kenndale in hopes that I will answer.  Do not know who, what, or anything since they do not leave a message so we are not sure who or why they are calling----just worries us when we have family in poor health!!!! We got the number when we purchase our phone from Verizon---we are aware it used to belong to someone else but that was YEARS ago!

They called. I did not pick up. No message left. Google searched number and got here. If this number calls random people without leaving messages, I doubt if they are legit. No worries.

Just got a call from these clowns AGAIN. Has to be the 4th time in 2 months now. This guy w/ a India/ indian accent, informed me that he was calling from Microsoft. He also told me that "you have a virus in your computer". I asked if he was sure that I had this virus & he replies "Yes, you have a virus in your computer & I am calling from Microsoft Office to help you "fix it". My response: "Wow! You guys are awesome! I just bought my computer today & haven't even taken it out of the box yet!". He replies in confusion: "It's still in box?" ...I said: "Yes! And, what even better is, that it's NOT even turned on."....w/ that he hung up on me.  Oh ya...my caller ID showed it was a call from "John Kendall".

This number and another one have called me ten+ times in the last 15 mins. Ive asked them to stop calling me and he started cursing me. i finally called the police but they are still calling.

He was trying to get me to run evendvwr, I was not sure what that was I typed this in but did not run it, something just didn't fell right so I hung up the phone and looked up his number and found this. While I was searching and started reading over this he keep calling me. I am so glad I found this and hung the phone. I had to tell him to stop calling me and hung the phone up. So if anyone calls and it does not feel right don't do it. The name on my caller ID was - John Kendall -

Just called from this number with no ID, saying my computer is downloading programs that it should not have in it..... anyways i told him i'd check it and hung up......
1. I have a Microsoft Account I pay MSN. . whenever they need infomation on an email i call the direct line and talk to them.
2.  You are not obligated to anyone about where your computer goes or what it does unless it is illeagal  
3. Any downloads you do should be checked out for the realization of the product. in most cases the Computer Cleaners etc... are a scam to get you to buy a program that shows it cleaned it but in most cases is part of the program after you pay.  If you are at risk, your chosen avti vi program will tell you and solve the issues.
Don't just go to the computer, call your carrier for the phone and BLOCK the Calls from the Number........

516-370-4176 calls, showing Farmingdale NY as name. I answered in Spanish and no one responded even though I said it twice.  Then they hung up.  I won't answer again.  However if it is someone saying they are from Microsoft, they must think we are stupid.  Windows Defender comes as free virus protection on all Win8 computers, sometimes you need to disable Norton or whatever one the store or company sells you.  Defender works quite well, no need to pay for virus protection now that it comes with its own.  This is just another scam.  My computer wasn't turned on, or plugged in, basically not running at all when they called.  From all the complaints above, looks like these people are really fishing today.

Same story with me as all of you.  This is just so annoying and frustrating.  These guys used another number before and finally stopped calling as I gave them a hard time asking all types of questions that started to annoy them.  Then they got rude and started getting mad so I played cool and kept asking why are you mad, are you yelling it started to irritate them.  Then I said I am a systems manager and they hung up.  Now they are using this number to call.  I just hung... Tired playing games.  I'm calling my phone company to block this number and the one before.......good luck to all.  By the way my computer is on shutdown more Han it is on.....

My call from this number also said John Kendall on Caller ID;  I have had previous calls from someone saying my computer was send ing  messages and I would be in trouble if I didn't do something.  What a joke, I use a Chrome book, no microsoft here!

I just answered my phone, identifying myself, as is my custom when I don't recognize the name or number on the caller ID, which read: John Kendall 516-370-4176. (Nassau County, Long Island, New York) After a long pause, a guy with a thick foreign accent says "hello?" I replied "You called me! Why?" He then mustered up in a stuttering voice "Sir, I am from Windows technical support..." upon which I told him that I know better than that, and I'd forward the call to the police, and hung up.

Called me about an hour ago--did not answer, and glad I didn't!    Obviously a scam--my machine's Linux!

The caller with an accent from India  states they are from Windows and I am having problems with my computer !!!
  Is someone looking into these calls?

I just got a call from these guys at midnight waking up both my parents. An Indian guy answered sayin that my computer is at risk of being hacked since I have it on sleep mode. I could not understand him because of his thick accent and asked him to put someone else on. He then proceeded to put on another Indian man with a thick accent which was ridiculous. These people just call at late night and early morning to make it else be like it's an emergency but do not listen to anything they say.

I've been getting calls from "John Kendall" approx 4 or 5 times a day for the past week. I called my phone company and they said I couldn't block them. They wouldn't do anything about it. Tonight the Arab caller said some really crude things to my husband about what he wanted to do to me! My husband cussed him out and hung up. He called back 5 minutes later and didn't say anything. I'm calling the sheriff's dept tomorrow but doubt that they will do anything about it. Why aren't the police doing anything about these calls? I'm sure other people have reported them. This is crazy. Why are they allowed to continue to harass us?

They won't stop.  They are Indian scammers/extortionists who regularly ignore US law.  Call blocker is your best bet.
